Yeah, I know. I apologize about that! :shame:
I'll end the poll and the next Chancellor can declare the save open.
Library will be updated tomorrow, hopefully. I have some hours free in the morning so I hope I can do all the Library and History thread things then.
TCV, I think Sarpedon and his army is in good hands. Just get your computer fixed soon or you will miss all the fun against Persia(Pahlava)! ~;)
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
I'm glad someone's confident about him. With the amount of pot CP smokes I fear for Sarpedon's life every time he takes the save! :laugh4:
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
sorry, I lost internet connection on my laptop just now, so I couldn't upload the save. and I'm accessing org through another computer now. and I don't have my save with me.
so I'll probably get the chancellor's report up in around an hour. though I suppose nobody is waiting for it.
oh yes, and kingsnake should prepare for battle; the save's for him; pesky ptolemaioi attacked Alexandreia.
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
kingsnake is not available for a battle. He told me that he will go for a vacation and can't access the save. I can give him some extra time to get back, though. ~:(
Btw, I forgot to PM you everyone but did you moved Kleonemos towards Alexandreia?
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
oh noes. I didn't :wall::wall:
does it mean I have to re-do the part before I end the turn?
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
No, you don't. I just hoped to reach near Alexandreia so that I could help Aratos if Ptolemaioi should attack.
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
I sent PM to kingsnake and gave him another ~24 hours so that he could fight the battle. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that he will not fight it cause the last time he was in the Org on March 8.
I don't like auto-calc when players avatars are involved. Especially in siege situation when they have nowhere to retreat!

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
^^^We have had 2 deaths already due to that sort of thing...sad. Im not sure what it is yet, but i think ETW is killing RTW play time~:handball: this is RTW now...
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
For many(including me) real life have made it hard to get into the game as much as we want.
And ETW is also killing this right now! :laugh4:
I hope that about month from now we can spice things up and get some life back into this game!
Also, at the moment it looks like that Persians have the upper hand in this current war!
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Yeah, I hope it's just that and it will pass. I want this to become interesting again. :embarassed:
By the way, since Celtic Punk doesn't seem to show up, the position to lead my Royal Army until my computer is fixed is open. Anyone who want to do it can just ask for it.
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Hey, could someone move Alexandros and the 1st Syrian back into Memphis for me? I'm away from my EB computer for a few days and would rather not get left out in the desert. Thanks.

I remind you that you have to recruit units to Aratos' Satrap army.
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
darn. I forgot that it has yet to be recruited. I'll go check what was said recently in the council about Arartos' Satrapial army.
edit: it seems it was a few pages ago in this thread, kingsnake said something about having 2 pantodapoi phalanx and 2 thureophoroi; so I assume it's an infantry army and it's half done, I'll complete the rest tomorrow when I take the save.
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
It is 'Infantry army'. He have 4 unist(the ones in Alexandreia) but needs 1 Inf, 2 Mis and 1 Cav unit to be recruited. After that kingsnake can use his huge influence and command to get additional units if he wants.
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Don't forget my personal guards! (2 Medium phalanxes(?)) There are 2 types, so I mean the ones that you can recruit in Hierosolyma, so check that city to see the units I want. They are also recruitable in Alexandreia.
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Hey guys, in one of my classes I'm required to create a site and, since I have absolutely no imagination, I've kind of chosen to make it about WotB. It's not likely to be any good (because lets face it, it's the first site I'd create and my artistic skills are horrible), so it's just something I'll create, show up to my teacher, get my grade and then immediately hide in the deepest corner of my closet, hoping for it never to be found. :embarassed:
However, is it okay if I include the stories you've written here there? (They'll be up for my, and possibly future, class to see.) You'd get the credits you deserve, of course. (Heh, heh, heh...)
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
hey, go ahead, I am actually writing one right now, so it should be up in a little while.
cant speak for everyone else though
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Thank you. If enough give me the permission, I might even consider letting them see the final product. The rest will miss out. ~;)

Since you became Satrap then you don't have special bodyguard units. Once you loose the position of Satrap then you have the right to claim those units. You can use your Influence and you can pick 5 units you want from Alexandreia and Memphis. This means that you can pick those medium phalanxes too. So, you want to become Strategos Hetairos with 2 personal bodyguard units or you want to stay as a Satrap with an army of 14 units(8 + 5 (Infl) + 1 (Com))?
I think Kleonemos wouldn't mind becoming Satrap of Aigiptos ~;)
@TCV - I don't have anything against you doing a WotB site! Just let us see the final product and perhaps some of your classmates want to join WotB as well! ~;)

Oh yeah, perhaps I should've run it by you first, but in my defence I knew you'd be okay with it and only decided right before I handed the paper in today. ~;p Thanks. I'll try to do you justice.
As for my classmates, I guess I could try recruiting them over, but if I may be a little prejudiced here, I don't think their kind is likely to join us anyway. My class is almost exclusively made up of women. :sweatdrop: (That's good for just about anything except this! :laugh4:)

So wait... a Satrap doesn't get to have bodyguard units, but a Strategos Hetairos does? Can I ask why?

Strategos Hetairos get those personal bodyguard units as a reward. Satrap gets his army (min 8 and max 16 units) that will act as his bodyguards. Also, Satrap can retrain any of his units when ever he wants but Strategos Hetairos don't have that luxury.
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Oh, I see.
Yes, that makes sense. The Satrap gets an army, but the Strategos may lead someone else's army if that person trusts the general's incompetence.
Cheers!

Must say that AI have kind of ruined this event. It took most of the troops outside and left it's settlements rebel/riot. Also, looks like I should've gave them more money. That 15000 mnai I gave is already wasted as it seems. ~:(
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
there were 3 apeleutheroi, 3 somatophylakes (general's bodyguards) and one more unit which I forgot; and the AI stupidly moved sokhrab e Zandig a round around the mountains northeast of Persepolis like a carousel. and also, Gabai is rebelling.

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
wow.... thats anticlimactic. I mean he has an army twice my size, I was assuming he would attack...

You should remember that about half of his army is made up for freed slaves though. I wish that there would be a console command that I could use to disband AI units or build AI buildings! And again I have to say that I should've gave them more money. :shame:
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
still I was hoping for this to lead to my first epic fight, even without the freed slaves he had enough babylonian spearman to give me a run for my money.
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Not to seem overanxious or anything, but when do I get those RBGs?
There's a Royal Army out there that needs a general :p

you'll probably need to wait another year, unless you want to play as a RGB instead, then some could be spawn for you when I take the save.
alternatively there is another FM (Kleombrotos Syriakos) in Seleukeia.
