Military access? I cancelled our alliance a couple turns back. Half expected either a preemptive strike or an accusatory pm. ~;P
No other shared hotseats. I'm safe...for now (wel, except in this one).
Now for something more IC: Fool, none can resist the might of the Khan. One either joins with him or finds their cities in ruins. We merely opted for the former.

Oh dear, with two mods against us they can read our every message and modify our every action!
Nevertheless, Kieven Rus stands by its allies and we will immediately begin moving forces to aid the Seljuks!

It looks like the alliance was cancelled last turn but I received no diplomatic or in-game message about it. I have attached my artist's painting of our maps and troop movements (OOC-can't call 'em screenshots:laugh4:) and you can see how I thought finally help for our beseiged Persian allies is arriving. And how defenseless my cities were. Ceasarea, Edessa, and somethingsomething were conquered this year. Our armies are committed to the death of the infidel. Hopefully we can do enough damage against him that the Sultan will realize his mistake of abandoning the UAMF and then our allies will finish him off.
France up

Re: Stainless Steel 6.4 Hotseat - Wrath of the Khan 2
That was it. I moved into your territory the turn I cancelled the alliance and then attacked the next turn. I assumed someone would get a message for the alliance cancellation but these things are funny in hotseats.
You guys might not want to try too hard. All those armies you're sending will just make it easier for the ERE to beat me and easily meet the requirements for conquests from a player nation to win once the Mongols are gone. ~;p

Re: Stainless Steel 6.4 Hotseat - Wrath of the Khan 2
Yeah but at least they can trust Silver not to betray them. Truth be told I offered Monkey the same deal, but that was before I played turn 1 and before I allied with the others. Now though I'm hoping I can make him regret it :laugh4:

I wasn't planning to make any stops on my way to fight the mongols, but you do what you have to do. ;) Two Fatimid fortresses fall to the French, maybe they'll think twice next time about betraying the UAMF. On the bright side, now those of us looking for a forward base in the east won't have to pay for it; so for my part, thanks Zim!!!

Unless we're talking about North Africa (which I'm not too concerned about, those provinces make me very little money and would cost too much to defend) that would seem to put your armies in both the Anatolia and Egypt areas. Previous is sensible enough but the latter is far off any route to the Mongols and has interesting implications that make me happier about my decision...

Re: Stainless Steel 6.4 Hotseat - Wrath of the Khan 2
aw man whats that egypt attacked seljuks? that just a mistake or is that for real? i gotta know about that before im doing my turn
alright just checked the thread so its real. man thats bad. now the game is going hard already. thought of good fella Zim gone bad going with the evil mongo shepherd there. man some bad sr collabo.nasty. changing the entire game totally taking it to the red zone already. bad moment right now thought im just doing some minor troop movement and some recruiting and thats about it wasnt expecting that. im in need of a slight extension now. yea i said that before and i am kinda slow these days but theres just lots of stuff going on right now im in preparation for a competition in some weeks so lots of cardio and low carb dieting which is draining already and im working with a new junior team now which is cool but time consuming add to this the nonsense two jealousy issue having girls in a love triangle are giving u ,a minor legal issue and the day to day stuff and u just totally out of time and the mood for playing so thats why im kinda off from the game but the wotk game is still in my heart so im sticking to this especially now that game really is on. im having this up some time tomorrow
-
Re: Stainless Steel 6.4 Hotseat - Wrath of the Khan 2
alright here it is already had a lil schedule change so got it done already. but man that turn really took me a while its a tense situation there. literally just looked at the screen for about 20 min thinking about the situation i mean the entire game changed now and im totally unprepared. its just bad. its been 20 min for sure before i started doing anything this situation really gets u thinking. the whole troop deployment took me ages i totally got caught off guard there.just bad. but thats what u getting for not following ur guts. but i really thought that good fella Zim would never be doing that but he did. he just been playing the nice dude here all along while hes evil at heart. its the zimperator.nasty nasty. now the evil mongo shepherd really got a shot at taking out anyone. but alright i mean actually thats fine its like that the mongols are way weaker than in the first wotk without egypt siding with them they d had a hard time probably going down in an roman egyptian onslaught. i mean im kinda surprised they still somewhat stuck there in kwarzy land. they are kinda lacking that bulldozer power from the first wotk. the pure mass of force and the units power still is over it but anyway they are lacking that lethal swag now. back then they really been unleashed rushing the entire map like a grizzly. no matter who d played them. its the shortened movement rate in this game that is tying them down kinda. in broken crescent the movement rate of the mongols was just insane. thats what was putting them ahead. and the enhanced movement rate of the generals also effected the trebuckets which is different in this game now aint it. in this game even if a general got an amped up movement rate all the siege weaponry still moves with basic speed or points or however its measured thats at least what i experienced. i mean with those level 3 roads of the romans i got a general that basically is moving from poland to constantinople in 2 turns but the generals movement rate got zero effect on the siege engines at least thats what its like for me. in broken crescent all the trebuckets got an enhanced movement rate as well once they been with a general. and some generals movement rate really been insane the khan as a sole unit covered the entire screen back then. that was just crazy. it lastly was his army that broke through the defensive line into iran cutting it for good. but whatever with the mongo pharao alliance the game changed 180. its really getting tough now. all of egypts bases are loaded. hes all ready. the next rounds are being decisive. totally caught me off guard. im putting some faith in that squadron of east roman heavy cav that i ve deployed to the region they capable of dealing some major blows but having planned and well positioned all his forces already egypt cleary got a better position right now and egypts forces are matching mine in numbers total. but whatever its still an open game there and my roman baby is fighting to the last man

In Broken Crescent 1.05 the Mongols unit stats had not been changed from the vanilla stats and were massively higher across the board than the other factions, which had been scaled down in proportion to each other - hence they were near-impossible to kill on the battle map or in autoresolve and you could leave them in the open knowing it would take several enemy stacks to make a dent on one stack of yours. In SS the Mongols have been modified along with the rest of the factions so that they are tough but not superhuman.
Movement rate is another reason as you rightly point out and also the rules we have in this game restricting spies and the use of siege weapons.
All this means I have had to proceed slowly and with caution.

The Mongol-Egyptian alliance has been fairly long planned, although only firmly rooted whe I realized SS's mongols aren't quite as overwhelming as BC's. Figured they could use an ally. :clown:
I had forgotten I'd allied in game with the Turks and it threw me off a bit. I was certain my cancelling the alliance and moving troops towards Caesara would be noticed. :sweatdrop:

I find alliance cancellations go unnoticed fairly easily in hotseats cause it doesn't give notifications like in single player :P

Re: Stainless Steel 6.4 Hotseat - Wrath of the Khan 2
Hi everyone, i'm having problems loading any hotseat campaign. I checked the twc forums, but they only have two posts on my issue, and when i tried what was suggested, it didn't work. If anyone can offer some advice about how to resolve this matter, it would be much appreciated. When I try to load the game from the load menu, the loading screen comes up, then seems to load again almost instantly and takes me back to the main menu, so it isn't a ctd. Thanks.

Done. In exchange for losing two fortresses we have taken two more.
A word to the wise, sometimes the comp is quite silly when deciding if you can build a fort or not.

It's really weird because usually when it CTDs when you try to load a hotseat save it's because your version of the game is not the same as the one the save was created in.
The thing most people forget is to patch Kingdoms before installing a mod over the top, but maybe your SS is not correctly installed? Does it say 6.4 on the loading screen?

i got this distant memory in my head of kiev squishing egypt once already back in the dogs of war game. kiev was ruled by u but who was it who was going down back then. whos egyptian empire fell once already in a major war against kiev. who was that. im trying hard to recall that but zimpossible been too long ago already
-
Re: Stainless Steel 6.4 Hotseat - Wrath of the Khan 2
Yo Silvershield. How ya been? I remember Dogs of War. Merlox used to play Egypt... until it was found he had been cheating in my game, Lords of the East, and had probably been cheating in Dogs of War as well. Barcamartin took them over for awhile, because his faction (the Seljuks) were their allies.
Good times. :)

It was Cecil at the time I believe, but I'm sure Zim will fit the role nicely.

Re: Stainless Steel 6.4 Hotseat - Wrath of the Khan 2
Egypt in DoW started out as Merlox. He was banned from TR games after admitting breaking the rules of at least one game.
Then the faction was variously controlled by barcamartin, Zim and finally Cecil if I remember rightly.

actually i was just punning around coz i thought Zim was ruling them at the end. thats why i said zimpossible. but anyway

and yea Merlox. i still got in my head how he crushed my spanish army back then when i was laying my very first siege ever. man this was back in 2009. crazy. time is going down like . this getting u all sentimental reminiscing over the past. but maybe im just too low on carbs right now
