This isn't really tournie related, but this guy really knows how to throw away a sure victory:

Another EPIC battle between myself and Stephen.
Viewers welcome. http://www.chess.com/echess/game.html?id=12003430
I'm developing a taste for the Sicilian defense.
I am one sneaky :daisy:, I just tricked this guy into giving me a stalemate when he was dominating the game. I'm getting into a habit of pulling victory out of the jaws of my opponents!:

When you're ahead by such a wide margin, and you can trap someone's King, always remember to give the king two spaces to move back and forth in.
And when you queen or do anything that might affect the coverage of the board, be sure you are not taking squares away from the king.
Stalemate is easy to avoid. Just let your opponent breathe and he will choke himself to death.
Sweating over the game with Pizzaguy! Bishops vs. Knights game...
Not tourny related... but look at this!

3 queens versus 1 king :devilish: I am so awsome!
Why didn't your opponent resign before that?
My friend is very very very stubborn :wall:
I managed to come back against Caius after he tricked me into losing my Queen. We both offered each other draws at different stages in the came, however I trapped his Queen and won it in the end.

I'm afraid my other opponents have not accepted the duel.
To the Pizzaguy opponents:
He is not strong but he beats us all because we give him the opportunity. Try to do better and stop hiding in the bushes like coward women!
:p
Lost another game with the reborn pizzaguy (look the link above).
Nice trap... :bow::bow::bow:
My strategy is pretty simple.
I like to render your pieces ineffective. Look at my recent games. I like to trap your bishops behind your own pawns, and make them bite on granite against my pawn formation. I like to take squares away from your knights, so they are less effective. It's all about the pawns.
I like to trade queens, because I render counterplay ineffective with less powerful pieces on the board. I look for forks and pins at every opportunity, anything to limit options.
Don't let me take away options. To keep the game even, open up space and trade your ineffective pieces for my good pieces.
Well, I could be wrong but I still have the good opportunity to trun the game with my pair of knights. The problem was that I made a stupid blunder without preparing the ground first! I do not blame it on a single blunder but this determined the battle.
Third game. At least I finlally got a constant player to kill the time, :2thumbsup:
My duel with Quintus has ended in my favor (2-0). GG good sir:bow:

Update on my games:
2 defeats against Glyphz (both checkmates), completely out-classed by him.
1 win against Pevergreen (resignation), he says he concedes the next game as well.
1 win against Seamus (time), awaiting next game.
Beefy agreed to a draw in our second game together, meaning that my qualification is now secured!

I maneuvered your queen into a deadly trap, and tried to win the game outright by winning the queen, even though I KNEW you had a good reply by attacking my king.Quote:

To defend my king against checkmate, I have to interpose with a piece, using my queen loses the queen outright, and using the knight loses a bishop. No master level player would call that position even after losing the bishop, and with strong attack on my exposed king position, I'm done for.
Well played, and although I created the weakness which won you the game deliberately, you seriously deserve credit for keeping a cool head and seeing the solution.
Your queen is toast, but not if my king is. Rematch anytime, my friend.
