Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
You know, I think I would keep quiet about your secret plans :D.
For all I know, ATPG probably spawned 40 zombies in bulletproof armor or some insane soldier guys who shoot at anything that moves in the tank depot :S.
If there aren't then all the zombies will be rushing there.
So I advise you all to RUN.

Maybe a default order should be set up that would be executed if players have not sent in orders on time.
That might involve:
- dropping a random item
- run away to a random location if attacked
- do nothing but sit on the ground sulking if not attacked.
Maybe run a random distance (by dice roll) in a random direction; i.e. panic attack/nervous breakdown.

Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
Zombies don't really have the ability to grab weapons. If this Las Plagas zombies ar something like RE4 (Never played it but I watched a famous RE4 movie about it on youtube, then yeah those zombies can use weapons like an M16. Furthermore, my bet is we'll have some mercenaries hanging around that spot (or on the bridge that leads there) waiting to welcome us all.
Imo if this giant boss zombie-thingy dropped by Umbrella in center of the town is anything like Nemesis, I think his first target will be to go to the miliary base to stock up on the most modern hardware (Bazookas and miniguns) to cause as much damage as possible.

Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the current round ends in approximately 37 hours?

Maybe, I was sort of under the impression it was the crowd bursting monster and theres a chance it doesn't need/can't use weapons.

FAQ Question Number 19.
Quote:
2. There are non-human creatures that are much bigger and stronger than you. Especially the crowd-busting creature that I will be sending after you. He's about 20 feet tall.
I would think a creature like that would already possess massive strength and vitality, and stats, why give it a ranged weapon? ATPG isn't that evil

Indeed, I have it set so that if you do not send in orders, you "defend" and "run away" when attacked and you don't move. The rounds are long enough that there should be no reason why you should miss a round. I'm sure people would prefer defense mode to search mode in this case, that they might stay alive until they get back.

Will all of the future rounds be this long?

No, once everyone has sent in orders, stats, and are acclimated and watching the thread, I'll ramp up the speed to get things moving. No excuses after the first round.

 I look forward to it

Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
Am I right in thinking this is point based, i.e: you could still win even if you only last half way, provided you have killed zillions of people in the process?
Like would the end result be blah de blah wins with 900 points
followed by
---- 800
---- 700
etc etc?
-
Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
By the way, how does one become full member? Having 10 PM spaces is very chilling...
-
Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
PMing one of the moderators should help. IIRC i became a full member 2 days after joining. I am not sure if anything has changed
-
Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
I'd like to help that process along a bit. I am wondering who here in this game is still a junior member... I'd want to compile a list and beg beg beg for a favor and get them all promoted to full membership, as new soldiers in the Pizzaguy army, fresh meat for the zombies to eat, plaga fodder, and generally future corpses with a rather dim future as the undead, unless they get extremely lucky.

Well there's a graded system... from Total victory to total defeat, draw in the middle, and overwhelming to partial to minor victories/defeats in the middle regions.
Based on how many of your goals you completed, and how many persons you killed or saved, etc. Since some players have an easier time scoring "points" because they can kill things better, I have the graded system there so that you can still score a total victory even without killing too many people.

Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
If I meet any mercenaries I will gladly help them kill the zombies.

Lets see how that works out for you

Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
It's kinda gonna depend on if I can find and figure out how to drive a tank or not.

See now that's just the sort of thing I have so say no about. Frowny face. :embarassed:
This is borderline... I don't want anyone to make such announcements about their potential strategy or meeting places or anything of the sort, and certainly not imply that they aren't a mercenary (as that helps narrow down who is who...) or that you're seeking alliances. This isn't an egregious error or anything, but be wary of the line.
I think I'm okay with people saying things like "wouldn't it be nice to have a tank and blast some zombies?" but I am hoping this isn't code or a loophole for "meet me at the tanks". Careful careful.
-
Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
Well I'm sure it's going to be more difficult than just walking up to a Tank and getting in...
-
Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
Get me a list of people playing this game that are still juniors and I'll see what I can do.

Pizza I was joking, I read the rules through and it didn't say anything about joking. For all anyone else knows I could be Tweety Bird. And have you not paid attention during the past 10 games we've played? I'm way too lazy to come up with any kind of code. :tongue3:

As a game host, I cannot afford to have a sense of humor.
If I ever became a gameroom moderator, I'd lose it completely. Those guys just don't know how to have ANY fun.
[That's what YOU think, Pizzaguy. How's Junior Member status for a week sound? :tongue2: -GH]
[Maybe two weeks? :devilish: -Khaan]

Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
I could use a larger PM box. I've had to do some deleteing already to keep mine from maxing out. It's ok that I deleted my role and character card PM right?

OK from now on I'll just post meaningless banter in both threads :clown:

Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
Lets say i attack someone and my Combat mode is set for stand and fight and the person who i attack is set for stand and fight. Does that mean a fight to the death? Or are there only a limited number of combat rounds within a phase/action?

If you both stand and fight, with no retreat orders, one of you gonna die. Welcome to the jungle.
edit- to be specific, battle continues until you one or both of you dies, or run out of bullets and strangle each other to death. There are unlimited combat rounds in a phase if you don't run.

Re: Resident Evil: Discussion Thread
Since this is Resident Evil do we have to be standing still to use any melee weapons or guns we may have?
