Cristiano Ronaldo

~
I found it kinda distasteful that Ronaldo didn´t thank John Terry or Nicolas Anelka for their contributions.....after all...without them he wouldn´t be there receiving that prize :wiseguy:
the first one that can figure that one out gets a cookie :2thumbsup:
TBH even if he missed the penalty to lose Utd the euro final he should have still got it, i would say it was an important moment, but taken against a whole season of play it shouldn't be much of a factor... I mean liverpool didn't win anything and Torres finished second...
Man City offers 134 M€ for Kaka...amazing! :dizzy2:
The new deal offered, according to this article, is 271 million.
I hope he doesn't go, but that's huge amount of money...
What the Phone? That's an absurd amount of money of one guy. You could build a world class team with 271 millions, and they use it all in one guy.
Domestic trivia:
Aberdeen 4-2 Celtic
[Video clips that appear after midnight'll probably only be available in the UK - I know the rest
of you will feel horribly deprived.]
Well done the Dons, hopefully the Gers will be going top soon...
Yep, if you have several years but they want it now, not tomorrow or next week. I'm really starting to hate those rich idiots that splash insane amounts of money for players every transfer window. I don't mind when it is done like it was done in Hoffenheim but this with Man City and Chelsea is bad for football in general.

Gremio to "game test" Viagra
According to Gremio's club doctor the miracle sex drug Viagra could help football players perform better at altitude and wants the Brazilian club to put his theory to the test.
Club medic Alarico Endres claims that he had his Eureka moment whilst reading a magazine "which wasn't a medical one".
"Viagra increases and improves the blood circulation," explained Endres. "It therefore can improve the performances of players at high altitude."
At the moment it is only a theory but one that is expected to be "game tested" during the Copa Libertadores, in particular when the matches are played above 2,500 metres in Bolivia.
Soccernet predicts a high scoring game with Gremio's rampaging players benefiting from improved penetration in the box ... Sorry. Couldn't help it.
Quite how they are going to conceal the medically intended effect of the drug is still unknown.
Edit: So I was watching Roma as I often do, and I'm glad that I found a replay with the obligatory Italian commentary of the last gasp winning goal over Torino.
Baptista 90'
That brings a whole new meaning to the 'hard men' of football. :embarassed: :laugh4:
He won´t leave for Man City! At least it says it here http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/news/...n-mailand.html
Sorry folks, the article is German....
Any who even thinks he won't leave Milan is delusional.
Why? Milan would gladly sell him for that amount of money and he would probably become the highest paid player in the world... I've read somewhere that even he's father is suggesting he should go to Man City.
The only problem here is that compared to Milan, Man City is a provincial club...
So was Chelsea before Ambramovich and Mourinho. >_>
They were of a much better standard than man city, fa cup finals, 4th place finishes... plus they were pretty damn big before mourinho 2nd place twice and decent cl run... not that man city have too bad a squad it just doesn't seem to be working too well...
if Man U had lost the final, and the general opinion was that he had cost the club the title?....no freaking chance he´d get this prize.
im not sure what you mean by the title but a players whole season should not be judged on one penalty, and it should definetly not be judged on some other players missing a penalty. Whether or not that did make the final difference idk, but its the whole season it should be judged over, 1 kick at the end of the last game of the season is inconsequental to judging a players performance, it is based on his not his clubs success...
Not exactly. There were big names in Chelsea before, like Vialli and Ruud Gullit. Even though they were near the end of their careers when they've signed for Chelsea, they were still very famous.
So, even before Abramovich, Chelsea was a club of much higher stature than Man City.
Y'all have short memories. Chelsea were a fantastic club before Abramovich jumped on board. They were one of the best teams to watch, the flow the style they had in the late 90s and early 00s. They were the leagues under-achievers, always playing beautiful football and yet almost always just out of reach for the very top. When I was a kid I always looked forward to Arsenal vs Chelsea, watching both Zola and Bergkamp in a single match, fantastic!
By the title I mean the champions league....
and as for the fact that a player shouldn´t be judged on just one penalty....maybe it shouldn´t...but the fact is that they are.....and if a player costs his team the champions league in an obvious way he ain´t getting the nod of being best player of the year.
Credit to Burnley, well played. Unlucky in the end, but well played. Stirling effort.
Portuguese league cup

How embarrassing!
Liverpool drop to third. Same old, same old.
Villa five point cushion. I wonder what their Champion's League group will look like next season, it'll be tough since they're unseeded.
Did Arsenal lose ?
Chelsea are a mess recently
Liverpool i thought were too inconsistent even before thier recent draws
Arsenal are ... well not title winners...
Aston Villa have a tough enough job breaking the top 4...
Conclusion... The title is Manchester Uniteds! Hoorah!
