TBH even if he missed the penalty to lose Utd the euro final he should have still got it, i would say it was an important moment, but taken against a whole season of play it shouldn't be much of a factor... I mean liverpool didn't win anything and Torres finished second...

Yep, if you have several years but they want it now, not tomorrow or next week. I'm really starting to hate those rich idiots that splash insane amounts of money for players every transfer window. I don't mind when it is done like it was done in Hoffenheim but this with Man City and Chelsea is bad for football in general.

They were of a much better standard than man city, fa cup finals, 4th place finishes... plus they were pretty damn big before mourinho 2nd place twice and decent cl run... not that man city have too bad a squad it just doesn't seem to be working too well...

im not sure what you mean by the title but a players whole season should not be judged on one penalty, and it should definetly not be judged on some other players missing a penalty. Whether or not that did make the final difference idk, but its the whole season it should be judged over, 1 kick at the end of the last game of the season is inconsequental to judging a players performance, it is based on his not his clubs success...

Not exactly. There were big names in Chelsea before, like Vialli and Ruud Gullit. Even though they were near the end of their careers when they've signed for Chelsea, they were still very famous.
So, even before Abramovich, Chelsea was a club of much higher stature than Man City.

Y'all have short memories. Chelsea were a fantastic club before Abramovich jumped on board. They were one of the best teams to watch, the flow the style they had in the late 90s and early 00s. They were the leagues under-achievers, always playing beautiful football and yet almost always just out of reach for the very top. When I was a kid I always looked forward to Arsenal vs Chelsea, watching both Zola and Bergkamp in a single match, fantastic!

By the title I mean the champions league....
and as for the fact that a player shouldn´t be judged on just one penalty....maybe it shouldn´t...but the fact is that they are.....and if a player costs his team the champions league in an obvious way he ain´t getting the nod of being best player of the year.
