Running is far better for cardiovascular stimulation, which is generally better for your body. Muscle mass alone doesn't make you healthy.

It's quite the other way around. And the game is most certainly not like any version of your rounders (which is a girl's game anyway).

Cricket is zen, and enlightenment can only be gained through the full 5 day test experience. One must enjoy the ebb and flow, the detail and the grand picture. One must drink beer and Pimm's. (Not, obviously, at the same time unless one wishes to be granted membership of the Barmy Army).

It is not so much the duration of a 5 day that bothers me, it is the very concept of it ending in a draw. Any game that lasts that long should have a victor.

Because they'd prefer to be able to run far than be some porky fatso who can lift things. Let's face it, in everyday life, you rarely have to lift anything that's heavy anyway.

Its been years since I've played a TW game longer than a weak after release. Every time they put out another crappy game I keep thinking I'll never buy another one, but the beauty that was the Shogy/MTW engine keeps my hope alive... and my wallet open.

I think some sort of cardio (running, bike or whatnot) and weights is best. Doing one or the other seems to be a bad idea. Especially when wood need's a choppin'!

Oh and I'm surprised you didn't add "Women" but maybe that's too obvious.

My washing machine insists on eating one, and only one, sock every time I do the laundry. This I can live with, I considering it a ritual sacrifice to Hare Zogba, God of abandoned widows, of lefthanded goatmilk skimmers, and of washing machines.


The real problems are trying to maintain matching pairs.
If I buy my socks all as variations on the theme 'black', then I can never find any matching pairs out of the laundry pile. They all look too similar. This similiarity instantly changes into laughable dissimilarity exactly at the moment after I left home in a hurry and stare down at my feet in the metro on my way to work or a date.
If I buy socks with little prints on them then I can find matching pairs. But I'll look like an imbecile when wearing them.
If I simply buy thirty pairs of exactly the same socks, as I once did, my washing machine still manages to make 'm all come out differently, which returns me to dilemma 1 above.

Argyle is the way to go. Then if they don't match, you can pick tonal themes, it doesn't mater so much because they have similar patterns and it's then a fashion statement.

Because style, panache and elegance are all very arrogant traits. That's not to say the "vulgaroisie" aren't arrogant either. Frankly, I dislike both styles; I prefer the W. C. Fields/Kurt Vonnegut style of unpleasant yet sharp wit and a rejection of all forms of swagger, be they vulgar or stylish. And, like Ronnie Van Zant said, "be a simple kind of man."

Agreed. Man I met the most boring guy ever, trying to be all stylish, upper-class and snobby, (albeit he lacked the dry wit that made the old style so grand). The guy told me in his snob accent, with his nose firmly upturned towards the sky and the wine in his left hand slowly twirling, "You... have no manners, no class and no style." I promptly responded, "Yes, and you seem to have no sense of humour."

I like, panache, but you have to be able to pull it off, otherwise you end up a snob. And snobs are no fun. :no:

I don't listen to either honestly, more of a punk/indie type of guy myself. ~;) The way I interpreted it was that everything you like is great, and everything else is of a lower quality of music. I misunderstood then, and I'm sorry about the little anger filled rant. Sorry :bow:

How everyone else is so confident and find socialising so easy... or why i don't...

Why i don't care more about the fact i haven't had a girlfriend for years, or whether im tricking myself into believing this as some kind of defensive mechanism

How people get so caught up and emotional in relationships (fair play if its a really long term one, but shorter term i refer too)

Whether i am in my situation because of a lack of confidence and a real pessimism about myself or if i am actually a realist and things are as bad as they seem...

Why avoiding potential embaressment or just awkard social contact is always at the front of my mind rather than just having a good time...
