It's essentially like an alternate reality version of baseball. The rules are very different, but it generally boils down to the same concept. 5 day matches are dumb, but 1 day matches can be enjoyable.

It's quite the other way around. And the game is most certainly not like any version of your rounders (which is a girl's game anyway).

Cricket is zen, and enlightenment can only be gained through the full 5 day test experience. One must enjoy the ebb and flow, the detail and the grand picture. One must drink beer and Pimm's. (Not, obviously, at the same time unless one wishes to be granted membership of the Barmy Army).
