Medieval 2:Total War Online Game [Concluded]
Welcome to Medieval 2: Total War Online Game! This will also include Factions from Kingdoms to add to the fun (but hopefully not the length :sweatdrop:) I welcome all who had fun playing the Rome Total War version, which was great fun. This will use the same rules as the Rome one, kindly borrowed from Caius's game with the addition a new rule - Alliance.
The Rules
1) Post once every 24 hour period (GMT) to take one point from one faction, and add a point to another.
2) No back to back posts.
3) Alliance - To form an Alliance, two people must post "Alliance: Faction X with Faction Y". From then on, an increase in Faction X will increase Faction Y, and a decrease in Faction Y will result in a decrease in Faction X. You can dissolve an Alliance at anytime by having one of the declarer's of the Alliance post "End Alliance with Faction X". Please bold the creations and dissolution's of Alliances in bold for clarity.

I have a question regarding this rule.
You put GMT in parenthesis. Is this significant?
Does this mean we have to follow the date change on the GMT clock? Take me as an example. I live in GMT +1 which means date changes happens at 23:00 my time.
If I post at 09:00 today, I can’t post again before 23:00:01 local time. And I have to wait until 23:00:01 next day to post again.
I can however wait until 22:59:59 tomorrow and post two semi consecutive posts as long as it is not back to back and each post falls within their own date.
Have I got he gist of this?

Well, I was going off of the Org's clock below (very useful thing it is). I post once every 24 hour period based on that, so I tend to post just before GMT 24:00 and just after, and thus when I mean every 24 hour period, I mean just that above - sorry if that terribly confusing, but I'm very tired and will try to clarify better when more awake. Here is my go at it...
Using GMT as the standard, on can post once every 24 hour period GMT, in GMT time, thus even if I am in New York, I cannot post once before EST 24:00 and once right after, I can only post once before GMT 24:00 and once right after...I hope that helps...and if someone can make it more clear, can they do so?

EDIT: Might I propose, for the sake of a relatively speedy finish, that per three factions destroyed, the points moved will be increased by one. For instance, after the first three factions are destroyed, everyone starts taking 2 points, instead of one. After six, the points moved will be three, and so on. Since this game has a huge number of factions, and once factions start getting a gigantic number of points, we'll never leave this place.
Once we reach, the 5 points per move, we'll divide every faction score by 5 to reset it to moving by one, and round it up by excess, to simplify the matters.

I was going with the more historical way than the game's pseuedo histoyr. bohemund only ever rebelled against the byzantines (if that could be considered a rebellion)

I believe that alliances should follow the tally. Otherwise it would be difficult to follow the developments.
I can't see that Turkey have broken the alliance with the pope.
(resolve is used in chemistry and not with alliances?) :mellow:

Alliances will be a difficult thing to manage, especially when people supporting the same faction of conflicting views on whether a faction should be allied to that other faction or not. Because of that, I suppose Factions should have a King/External Policy Leader (Simply meaning a person who decides who the factions allies to). Imagining I didn't like the Mayans but glyphz did. I'd be cancelling the alliance everytime I post and glyphz'd be making the alliance everytime he posts, for instance. It'd suck.

It should be illegal for states to be allied when one is engaged in removing points from the ally of the other.
There should be rules which automatically negate an alliance. And there should be time limits or something, so one cannot forge an alliance just to gain a bunch of points, then cancel it immediately.
More thinking needs to be put into the alliance system, methinks. Otherwise I don't understand it.

yeah, instead you should do an ultrawar, like i did a while back, every faction has a 1 representative and them alone decide all motives for that faction, all untaken factions should be removed, and people without a faction should not be able to vote
i pick mayans if u think this is an ok system :laugh4:

Well, all of you bring up very good points about the alliance system, but I'd like to make it clear - only those who originally forged the Alliance can break it. For instance, the Alliance between Mayans and Portugal can only be broken by Glyphz or Ares - thus that faction in the end does end up with an "ambassador, or foreign relations minster".
Also, by an Alliances very nature, makes it moot to remove points from your ally and giving a point to yourself - the mechanic will negate any change.
As for time limits - I didn't add any because I wanted some serious backstabbing, but, that is a good point, so either we start from the beginning again, or from now on all Alliance last a minimum of 96 hours (or a better suggested time).
Thoughts?

I have sent a message to Jolt concerning his interests about the Portuguese-Mayan alliance. As Jolt was the first to support Portugal, I recognize him as the one who has the final say on alliances. If he wishes to break the alliance, I will do so.

The alliance with the Mayans is on. Death to the Spanish guys! Has anyone read my suggestion of the point addition thingy? It's pretty clear imo.
