Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
So I was browsing the book shop and found something interesting. A book with lots of interesting psychology games in it. So I arranged those to make it more suited for online gaming. I hope you'll enjoy it.
The first game is very easy one. Its called Minority Rules.
When you want to decide what to do. You do a Majority Rule yes?
Well this one is little different. In this game, people in the majority will lose and people in the minority survives. Here is how this game is going to work.
- Each player will start off with 1 million dollars (Fake money obviously..)
- Host will randomly select a player who will decide the question of the day.
- The question must be answerable by Yes or No
- During the day, players may discuss the answers or tactics of this game.
- During the night, players will send me their answer via pm.
- Player may not change the vote once it is placed
- Host will announce the result, which players voted for which answer. Those player who voted for answer with fewer votes will advance to the next round. While the players who voted for the majority will forfeit their money.
- Last player standing will get all the money.
- Player with the most money wins.
And finally.
If you know where this game is from, please keep it secret
There is more to come and its much more fun if the players can come up with their own strategy.
If you have any question regarding the game ask me please
I'm looking for many players I can get in 72 hours. Join in and get rich (Well.. Feel rich)

This game is tricky but much like a mafia game in some senses....:clown:

Re: Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
I've forgot to add the rule "Once the vote is placed, you may not change it" so that is added now.
For those hesitating to join up, don't be frightened by illogical wall of text. The game is really simple, and if your lucky (or unlucky because you'll lose) you'll be out of the game in 24 hours, so it won't be too time consuming :smash:
More players I have, the better this game gets
-
Re: Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
Ill join, why not.
Not exactly what I envisioned for my first game on the .org, but it could be interesting.

I'd like to make it clear that unlike the majority of you, I'm joining this game because I don't want to play.
-
Re: Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
Being honest, I was very tempted to withdraw because I don't want to play. It is going to be evil.
It is like Rock, Paper, Scissors. There is very miminal strategy or tactics.

Re: Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
seems like it will require minimal time. In.

I knew I forgot something. Thank you Beskar
If a player forgets to vote, they will not advance to the next round.
If you know you are going to be absent, send in a vote before hand.

Yup, I thought its a nice and easy game to kick us off.
More evil, complex game which requires strategy will come later

Should be fun...:bounce:

Re: Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
Phase 1
Players were summoned to the main hall where they met a masked man.
"Greeting players. I am the dealer of this game Beefy and I will be with you for all games hopefully. One million dollar is already dealt to all you players in the shape of expensive diamond on your name plate. At the end of the game, we will collect one million dollar from the each of you... That means. If you win this, you can have maximum of 12 million dollars. However, if you lose this... you will have to pay us back somehow... Never mind that. We'll think of the method later. For now let us enjoy the game!"
Players all shook in fear. Except a few of them looked confident.
"As I explained already, the first game we are going to play is Minority Rules. In this game, Majority dies and the Minority wins. I will distribute two sheets of paper, one saying 'yes' and one saying 'no'. In 24 hours you must cast one of those paper in the box in front of me. You are not allowed to put both sheets in. And if you cannot make up your mind in 24 hours, then you will not make it to the next round. "
"Now, first player to send in orders will get a bonus of asking a question in the next round. For the first round, I will take the honour
Question of the day is...I am an attractive male.
Send me a pm saying 'yes' or 'no'. If everyone sends their orders in early, I'll end the round short.

Got a guilty detective result??? I didn't think this was a mafia game beefy.
-
Re: Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
Vote: Lord Winter gotta bandwagon before they start suspecting me...whoops, did I say that out loud? :clown:
-
Re: Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
This is not a Mafia game yet guys......besides, we need a Minority meaning 1 vote=win for voter
-
Re: Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
Unless i get all the votes in, in the next few hours, I wouldn't be able to do the write ups on time as I'm off to watch some movie.
But time limit is still the same. If I don't get all the orders in by next 8 hours, then I will have the eliminate those who failed to send.
-
Re: Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
Everyone is going to vote Yes and No will win, I will probably even bet money on it.
My reasoning?
In everyones mind, everyone is going to say "Yes" for the joke, even if it is slightly homoerotic. So they would obviously switch to "No", in order to be in the minority. However, they will go "Ah ha! Everyone is going to think that, so I will vote Yes, as they would all go no!", so they vote for the "Yes". Since a minority wouldn't even think that far, they would just vote for "No" and as such, everyone will be voting for "Yes" and probably like Sasaki and White_Eyes:D would actually vote "No" and then:
White_Eyes:D: ":bounce: you guys are predictiable, it is obvious you would try to go for the homoerotic answer thinking it is an minority!"

Ah ha! Its so simple.
All I have to do, is divine from what I know of you. Are you the sort of man who would think he is attractive, or that he isnt?
Now a clever man would be humble and say no, as only a great fool would boast and say yes, so I can clearly not choose no.
But you must have expected me to think that, so I can clearly not choose yes.
Sasaki: So you've made your choice then?
Not remotely! Beefy comes from Japan, as everyone knows, and Japanese game shows are hosted entirely by criminals, and criminals are used to having people not trust them as you are not trusted by me, so I can clearly not choose the vote in front of you.
Sasaki: Truely you have a dizzingly intellect.
Wait till I get going! Where was I?
Sasaki: Beefy
Ah yes, Beefy!
But you must have suspected I would have known Beefy's origins, so I can clearly not choose the vote in front of me.
Sasaki: You're just stalling now.
You'd like to think that, wouldn't you! You've won a mafia game, which means you're exceptionally strong...so you could have put the vote on the wrong one trusting on your strength to save you, so I can clearly not choose the vote in front of you. But, you've also moderated The Guild, which means you must have studied...and in studying you must have learned that man is mortal so you would have put the wrong vote as far from yourself as possible, so I can clearly not choose the vote in front of me!
Sasaki: You're trying to trick me into giving away something. It won't work.
It has worked! You've given everything away! I know what your answer is!
Sasaki: Then make your choice.
I will, and I choose...[pointing behind Sasaki] What in the world can that be?
Sasaki: [turning around, while pever switches votes] What?! Where?! I don't see anything.
Oh, well, I...I could have sworn I saw something. No matter.[pever laughs]
Sasaki: What's so funny?
I...I'll tell you in a minute. First, lets vote, me from my paper and you from yours.
[They both vote]
Sasaki: You guessed wrong.
You only think I guessed wrong! That's what's so funny! I switched votes when your back was turned! Ha ha, you fool!! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia; and only slightly less well known is this: Never go in against a pever, when death is on the line!
[pever continues to laugh hysterically. Suddenly, he stops and falls right over.]

Re: Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
By "I" I did mean you guys as a player. Not "I" as in Beefy. But ah well :sweatdrop:
The Host... Beefy187 walked up on the stage and declared the first round over.
"24 hours has passed since the voting. I will now open the box and count the votes.
Beskar- Yes
White_eyes- Yes
pevergreen- Yes
Cultured Drizzt fan-Yes
Sasaki Kojiro- Yes
Pinman- No
Centurion1- Yes
Iskander3.1- Yes
Ichigo- No
A Very Super Market- Yes
ricera10- No
Lord Winter- Yes
This means Pinman, Ichigo and ricera10survived the round. Now they will advance to round 2.
Since Pinman was the first to send in orders out of the three winners, he will have the honour of creating the question of the round.
To all you losers. Unfortunately you have lost. You will have to pay us back your one million dollars without using the diamond your wearing. Good luck.
Round 2 commences in 24 hours. Pinman will send me or post his question on this thread. Use this round wisely

Right. That would be the question I was looking for :sweatdrop:
Anyway like Pinman said the question is
I am the only sentient being which exists.
You have about 36 hours to answer the question.
Also Yaropolk failed to send his orders on time so he is out of round 2.
He did vote No though.

Re: Beefys' psychology game- Minority Rules (Easy)
Incidently, I intended the "I" to refer to the person answering my question.
Just so we are all on the same page.

But make sure you stop kicking before it dies completely..

Ricera10 has failed to send in his orders.
Both Ichigo and Pinman voted for Yes.
Since there is only 2 players left, the game is a tie.
Ichigo and Pinman gets 6 and a half million each :2thumbsup:
Game ended
I'll add a little comment tomorrow.

Hmm... Let me reconsider it..
Comment
I would've rather if the game dragged on for a little more. But most player were "eliminated" on round 1 and that was it.
It may have been hard due to my lack of skill to clearly explain the rule. But the rule states Who ever has the most amount of money wins the game not who ever survives till the end.
You start off with a one million, which you have to give back after the game. So as long as you gain just above one million, you'll benefit from it.
What the characters did in the original game where they had 22 players was, they formed a group of 5 or 6. And half of them voted yes and half of them voted for no. The winner would share the money to everyone in the group. That way, everyone (at least those in the group) would win the game.
Unfortunately that wasn't possible as most of player were eliminated in this game early on. However what you could've done was contact the three remaining players and offer a strategy that could get them to win for money.
Then to the player who offered you the most, tell that player to team up with the other two separately. So for example, Ichigo would team up with Pinman and Ichigo separately. Ichigo would tell the other players to vote for Yes (or no) then he would vote no. Since the other two doesn't know that Ichigo is teamed up with both, they'll both vote for yes.
Ichigo and who ever told him the strategy will get the money. Perhaps Ichigo had to pay the other two players some, but he would've won at the end.
More comment
Just checked the official rules. It says if there is two winners, then the two will halve the share.
I hope you enjoyed this. The next one will be hosted sometime next month, and it will be group game. Hope you enjoy it too
