This will be a high-conversion game in the tradition of Lylat Wars here and War of Hyrule over on TWCenter.
Days and nights will be 24 hours and will take the rough narrative form of Episodes, with a Buffy "Episode" ending each day and beginning each Night and an Angel "Episode" doing the reverse. Roles will be revealed on death, but not Team. Every Role will be a part of a Team and resident in a Location, either L.A. or Sunnydale for most. Teams will be Innocent teams, Mafia teams, or possibly something else. The Victory condition for all Innocent Teams is: eliminate all members of Mafia Teams. Other team VC's will be rigorously defined in Role PMs. This should all be clearer after I do the first Intro post, i.e. the Buffy Pilot, which will contain a complete innocent Role PM.
Important Game Information,
As usual, this information may or may not be relevant to tonight, but I realized should be publically available.
Phase end will always be 10 pm Eastern unless I specify differently, regardless of my being around. Phases are about 24 hours, unless I specify otherwise.
For gameplay reasons, vampires will not be mentioned as turning to dust, i.e. people may turn to dust upon death, but I won't be telling you that.
Scans occur after conversions.
Role-blocks do not appear in the phase posts.
Successful Conversions do not appear in the phase posts.
New seasons begin with the Buffy epsiode following an episode in which a team is exterminated. That is the only indication of teams being eliminated.
No quoting PMs from me,
the Dead may not send or receive PMs, write in QTs, or reveal external to thread information (i.e. scan results or older PMs)
This includes making any claims about who you were or were not in contact with, WHETHER OR NOT they claim in the thread to have been in contact with you. Rule of Thumb, if you're in doubt, don't post it.
If alive, you may send messages, create QTs, whatever you please as long as you don't quote me. I do appreciate being kept in the loop on out-of-thread communication, though.
There is some variation in format of Role PMs, so don't rely on small irregularities to give you hints.

Scene opens, Buffy is talking with Willow and enjoying a nice picnic lunch. She looks up, and does a double-take, as a look of concern crosses her face.
Buffy: Autolycus, what are you doing here? Don't you live in L.A.?
Autolycus: Can't I come down to visit you every once in a while without permission? I brought some of your old friends to visit, too. They were very ... persuasive
A bunch of teens come around the corner, laughing. Then they attack Autolycus and start biting him. Buffy defeats them, and goes to check on Autolycus, who is lying on the ground, bleeding copiously.
Autolycus: What's wrong ... with your generation ... First you burn down the gym, then your friends make me drive them to see you and what happens, they bite my legs off. You .... always .... were a disappointment to me.
Role: Hank Summers
Team: Summers Men (Innocent)
Location: Sunnydale
Ability: To die for the purposes of plot exposition
Personal Objective: Die at the time when your daughters most need you
Background: You started out as a pretty decent Dad. Then, you divorced your wife when one of your daughters (or was that your only daughter) was going through the biggest change of her life. At least you still visited her occasionally. Until you went gallivanting off to Spain, that is. Die, Chauvinist Pig, Die!!
Notes: The Primary two innocent faction teams are the same as the two main locations, L.A. and Sunnydale. The one indication you will get of Teams is that a new Season of both Buffy and Angel will start every time a faction is wiped out, starting with Buffy. Since Hank Summers was the only Summers Man, the next Buffy episode will be Season 1, Episode 1, and the Angel Episode after next will also be Season 1, Episode , regardless of whether another faction gets wiped out in it.

I would have a neutral role, and accuse myself of working with the vampires while secretly trying to infiltrate the vampires by acting friendly towards them. I am fairly up to speed on the whole universe of Buffy and Angel. In the buffy clan, the group of friends Buffy had, included a witch, who was her best friend and also a lesbian, a werewolf, a watcher, who was disguised as the school librarian for close access, and theree was Angel, who was Buffy's lover, who is a vampire with a soul, so that way they can fall in love with each other and not fight each other like they should, since Buffy is a vampire slayer.

For those of you who have some burning urge to do research by watching the shows, I don't think I use any characters who are neither referenced nor appear prior to the final season of either show, although I reserve the right to be wrong on that :).

Protip: Send out those recruiting messages as soon as you open sign-ups, and the game will fill up very quickly. That's what I did for A State of Corruption, and it had more players than any of the other large games I've hosted.
Also, if you don't get 40 you can just put me in as a normal player.

Ok, I'd like to get those last 5 slots filled, but I can trim off a few roles. Sign-ups will close Saturday at noon, and all role PMs should be out and the game will start either Sunday night or Monday night.
