2012 Presidential Election Poll
Who would you vote for if the election was tomorrow?
-
Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
This poll most definitely needs a Gah! option.
-
Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
Bachmann seems like quite a well-balanced and level-headed individual.

Bachmann can be the Gah! option.
I'd go for Huntsman I think.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
If Bachmann ever get's close to the presidency I'll start bothering my counterparts in Australia/New Zealand to find me a position there. :stare:

Indeed.
Of the choices listed, it's between Pawlenty and Huntsman for me. I'll go with Huntsman for now, as - along with a strong record - he seems to have an unusual amount of integrity for a politician. He's also leaving himself options to actually govern based on circumstances and not ideological absolutism.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
If I was an American citizen I´d vote for Obama...
if forced to select a republican candidate...Gary Johnson

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
Elmer Fudd's speech is frequently slurred, which is proof that he is an alcoholic. He would be ripped apart in the primaries, unless he could prove that the speech slurring was due to a handicap, at which point it would become a huge asset to his campaign as we have not had a legitimately handicapped president since Bill Clinton.

if it's due to a war wound he could really become a contender.
and Clinton was not handicapped....he was horny i.e. he was a guy.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
11 vs 11 by my count. Obama will most likely win this next election pretty easily, but there is some time to go. Let's see what a default does to the economy over the next year and a half.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
Who was the black nutjob that prohibition of Islam should be allowed as the states may will it ?
Edit: I see it was about mosques, not Islam and the nutjob was named Herman Cain.
Am I wrong to remember another Cain who was a Republican ?

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
Obama since he more or less saved the Midwest and for the lack of a better candidate.

I'm curious, it almost sound like you consider that a good thing. Crippling a country to bring down your opponent usually involve a good plan to fix things afterwards, if you plan stay in power.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
Who cares. This is life, let's let things get interesting. We still have basic levels of education here, still have infrastructure. Most of us speak the same language and have levels of geographic isolation from threats. Fertile landscapes for food production etc. A default may require a major social restructuring, but who says that we don't need that and wouldn't benefit long term. Sometimes the status quo needs to be shattered when people have run out of ideas. Personally, I prefer a moderate approach, but that doesn't seem like an option here. This isn't a popularity contest like an election. I'm not sure that the president has ever faced a situation like this.

McCain and Cain are radically different. And by radically different I mean differing on the scale that Japan and India are a similar parallel with Asia being the common factor.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
Still 12 to 12. Let's see how these numbers hold up if Obama and the Democrats and the republicans allows us to default.
-
Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
Three people actually want Sarah Palin to be president? :stare:

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
McCain was a Democrat ?
And that Paul up there, is it Ron Paul ?

I refuse to even bother explaining to you the concept of peoples politics varying radically even within a party and the fact that hose two men are also radically different.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
I'm failing to understand the aim of that post of yours considering that I was merely asking about names in general, rather than joining a "oh which left is this ? american kind of thumb-sucking Hermanist tribalism shifted towards libieberalism or European way of blargablargijustpukedonmyleftfoot" kind of debate which I never had the slightest of interests about.
Gah.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
John McCain is this old white guy who ran for President in the last election for the Republicans.
Herman Cain is a radical republican who is this old black guy who wants to be nominated for this election.
They are two different people and many people do get confused! So don't worry about that LeftNine.
Also, yes, it is the same Ron Paul. I had to check as I believe there is a Senator (his son) who is dancing around some where.
-
Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
@Beskar :bow:
I remember I had liked Ron Paul. How wicked am I ?

Gah.
Ah yes, the joys of the two party system and people accusing others of not being "real" members of their party.

I love it too. After all, all of my hopes and desires are pretty much reliant on his being blind when drunk...

actually forget about Johnson...saw an interview he did yesterday and the guy is insane in economic items.
Obama it is then.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Poll
At this point I would have to say I would vote for Obama, for two reasons. One, his policies and actions have drifted to the right enough to be reasonable. And two, it would give the hardcore neocons and fundys brain aneurysms. Win-win! :2thumbsup:
