Attractive and Tall Woman at the Counter

I'm impressed at the number of highly qualified members in this forum. We have doctors and teachers in here. This forum is where I read the most intelligent debates on the internet. I'm sure that when it comes to unsurmountable obstacles, Totalwar.org members are the ones who can find a way. Posting this message on this forum already alleviates my concern.

The obstacle in my case involves a young lady in her mid-20s who works at the lobby of our building. She is an information assistant. I have never been attracted to a woman as much as I am to her. I look at her everytime I pass by her. Sometimes she looks at me, but I can't tell how she thinks of me. Once I got face to face with her suddenly when the elevator door opened between us. She looked and smiled at me beautifully. I got nervous and didn't say a word to her. The problem is that I don't know her, and I've never spoken to her. There are security guards who stand in the lobby. I'm a tall dude, but I'm skinny. These security guards are around my height and yet they're buff! I fear that she'd report me to those security guards if I talk to her in the wrong way.

Let's say that you're attracted to her as much as I am. What would you do?

Well have some casual conversations first, tease with your eyes

Just stop one time and say something along the lines of 'Hi, I keep bumping into you, so I thought I'd introduce myself so we can at least say 'hello' properly.' If you follow that up with 'Khello, my name is Inigo Montoya.' You get extra points.

Well, I for one would walk up and say, "Hello, my name is [insert name]. I must say that I think You are the most beautiful girl I have seen in my life, may I ask You out for a coffee some day?"

I never seen the need to make things more complicated than that.

But you are a Swedish ski-teacher you are prey.

But anyhow, charm comes kinda naturally to me, I have no idea why but women like me. Key is laughing with your eyes when embarking in casual conversation I think. Just talk and be interesting.

I am not kidding, no idea why, but women like me. I have it all the time I am flirted at wherever I go. I am not particulary handsome or well-build, I don't really understand it myself. Not bragging, it's just how it is.

This is definitely a good way to approach it.

SwordsMaster and Kadagar_AV have it right. Introduce yourself, otherwise you become "That odd person always staring at me"

Keep it simple, smile and be polite.

Whenever a female cashier smiles to you, it means she's flirting with you. If she asks you for a bag, that's the codeword for "do me right now in the breakroom".

I assume it's the same with receptionists.

Just follow Swordsmasters advice. If you wait longer, either by trying to come up with some contrived excuse to talk to her or by thinking of the best introduction ever, it will just get more awkward because shes already seen you walk by 1000x times.

Not that this is necessarily going to pay off, just pointing out that waiting too long is a bad idea.

"Hello, I'm a security advisor and I've entered this building on a daily basis for the past three weeks. I noticed you have not once checked my ID, despite not knowing who I am or whether I'm allowed to enter this building... [optional from here]Say, do you want to keep your job?!?"

Or...turn it around, approach her and say her way of looking at you all the time without saying anything scares you. ~;)
It's correct that it becomes a little awkward not to say anything for a while but that's the fault of both sides IMO, I'm progressive like that.

Oh and don't follow my advice, if you do she'll either have a boyfriend already or just want to be friends.

I like to keep separate bags for cashiers and receptionists. But maybe there's something wrong with me... I might have OCD.

I was always shy around women.

Then, on a certain night, I simply grabbed the girl that had been driving me crazy for several days, and kissed her.

Now I'm married, I have a child, a job, got a decent haircut and am paying off a mortgage.

Have you done the basics? Asked around, found out who she is, checked to see if you two have any common acquaintances or friends?

If not, yeah, just introduce yourself. Try to be chill. Something along the lines of, "We keep running into each other. Hi, I'm [x]."

It doesn't need to be complex. Beautiful women are people, too, with the exact same set of insecurities and oddities as everyone else.

Mwah, bit too fast forward, pickup lines are what they are used to getting. Be casual and charming I'd say, not too much or you'll end up in friend-zone

I get what you are saying, waitresses, bartenders and so on have people flirting with them TOO MUCH at times.

With that said, waitresses, bartenders and yes, even receptionists also deserve romance.

As long as you'r not a slob or to drunk/stupid to understand when you are told of, go right ahead. I have heard so many beautiful girls in service jobs complain that men THEY are interested in don't dare to flirt, because they think the extra smile is just part of the service.

Again, manners. If you say she is beautiful and ask if she wants to go for a coffee some day, the worst thing that can happen is that she says no. She will only hate you for it if you can't take a no, or if you start being creepy.

Kinda have it everywhere. Fun story, I was in Paris and the girl at the entrance was cute so I asked her if she wanted to have a wine when she was done working. At 2 am I got a knock on my door YAY. Was not the girl but the hotel-manager who furiously started vaccuum-cleaning my room. Bit too old for me so I acted as if I didn't understand her and acted as if nothing happened next day. But things like that tend to happen to me

By the way, this saturday was related to this thread. I'll bore you with a story from the "exciting" life of HoreTore!

So, me and a few pals went to town. Unusually for me, I wasn't very drunk, so I have a good memory of the night. Anyway, me and a friend was sitting at a table opposite two women. I started hitting on the short one, of course(I'm not tall, except when in Italy). Eventually, my friend started hitting on the other woman. I should probably say "hitting on". I couldn't hear all of his nonsense due to the music and my attempts on the other one, but one of his first sentences was "but you who are so delicious", said in a rather sleazy manner. The high point came when he touched her boob and she responded with "No, that's not okay" before going leaving with her friend to the ladies room.

Fast forward a couple of hours, and my friend has his tongue in her throat. To top it off, the short one informed me she had a boyfriend.

My world-view was shattered that night. She was a right hottie too, way above his standard! I left them at the kebab shop, as I was too frustrated to sty any longer...

I guess the morale is that it's sometimes good to be an incompetent, clueless weirdo.

I cannot emphasise how true this is - she's likely say yes if you're halfway good looking, not completely awkward and she's single. If she doesn't so what? It's only coffee, it's not like you dropped down on one knee and swore your life to her, is it?

Even I can (and have) asked girls out for coffee.

So, well, I could have been. I was the one who walked away from the one girl in my life. Mainly because I got flowered up, and now deeply regret it. I found my twin soul, engaged her, my dad died in cancer, I took care of him for a year, got into a drunken/drug state... Lost her... Because I was a complete arse...


No mate, I wont give anyone advice on how to get a fully functional life. However, when it comes to asking a girl out for a date, you probably can't get a better guide than me. At least not on a gaming site.

O.k., I talked to her. I said "hello", but I couldn't think of anything else to say at that time. That's the problem. My mind tends to blank up when I'm around attractive girls. I think I was stiff if I remember correctly. I think it's because I lack confidence and was nervous.

When they get into their mid-twenties into the thirties. (Can be younger/older depending on circumstances)

Childbirth is usually a very big factor as their as priorities become very child centred, wanting 'better finical situation' in the environment to give the best for the children. Once they have the children, they can end up living their lives through their children which causes a lot of marriage breakdowns as things such as sex become non-existent due to a multitude of reasons and failings from both/eitherside thus they fall back upon crutches, such as the children whilst the man typically fallbacks on things like the pub.

So the "18 year old" is too young to care about these things, wants to have fun. They are naive and typically emotionally immature. As Gelatinous Cube says, hardly any perspective.

The "Older Women" is past those days, most likely already had the kids and they are off at school. They want to to prioritise on having fun, they don't care about a lot of things as that is in the past, and are living for the moment.


Disclaimer: These is obviously very broad and general stereotypes, but I am attempting to explain the reasoning behind them to The Stranger so he understands better!
