- adding a modesty patch to the gaesatae as an installer option so those poor, innocent people who can be wholly corrupted by naked pixels don't soil themselves

Yup.. the unit is modellled with an alphable loin cloth. Similar to how CA did theirs. So you'll be able to employ a PC version of these guys next build.

Maybe it should be reversed so that there is a nude patch prominently shown on the main site with a note that "this is more historically accurcate".
Why? If people care enough to not see naked Celts, they can download it. Otherwise, we want it to be as historical as possible, and that includes naked guys... :inquisitive:

I actually do applaud the nudity but we live in the world that we live in. Let's not make this into a politic debate shall we - I just don't think that having a naked soildier is worth any potential follies EB could get itself into with various counties laws'. Yes, probably nothing will happen, but my suggustion is to play it safe.
IMO that's basically the only motivation for the PC version. No such problems in Europe...yet.

Sweet lord, it was already clarified that the problem is not with the player, rather with his parents. If you're under 18, living under your parents' roof and they walk in and your playing a game where a bunch of dudes are running around naked killing eachother, it puts you in an awkward place. Now, if you have parents that don't mind or you don't think they should, that's one thing, but the reality of the matter is that a lot do and so the guy is trying to remedy that.Quote:

My mum and dad are fine with violence in games. Well, that's what happened in real life. but my mum would feel uncomfortable (IN a very bad way) and that is not what I want. I hate political correctness too. It's just not worth the hassle explaining to my mum and dad that that's how they thought.
I'm pretty tired of this subject coming up. There will be a patch for people who prefer to censor those things. No one will be forced to use it, so why do you feel the need to incessently question why anyone would? Who cares? Some people would prefer that, and they'll have the option. As it is, this kind of pissing contest needs to stop, because both sides act immaturely, with some varied mix of whining or self-importance and some smug sense of superiority, which is all very irritating and rude, and needs to stop immediately. All this does is attract bad attention from everyone involved and gets a lot of people unnecessarily upset or confused. The question is answered; there will be a patch for this eventually. No one will be forced to use it. Please drop the subject.
