Post political critique in the form of pictures!

After feedback, I have been persuaded to re-open this thread for submissions.
Please make sure that you read the forum rules before posting.
Be aware that you are responsible for whatever you post.
Whilst the nature of political cartoons means that some people may be miffed or annoyed, there is no place for deliberately offensive material. If in doubt, don't post (or seek advice from a moderator via PM).
Please ensure that you host pictures yourself. Any hotlinked cartoons will be deleted. Because of this, it would also be a good idea to provide credit to the artist/publication.
Enjoy.
Oh, go on then, seeing as BG has been so gracious as to reopen the thread
Here's one of my favourites, on a similar theme:
http://www.mydatabus.com/public/macs..._chronicle.gif
The K-Chronicles can be found at The Salon (www.salon.com), and I owe my thanks to Zaknafien for reminding me it was there, I'd not visited for a couple of years... yeah yeah I know it's a wishy-washy crypto-pinko liberal propaganda machine (but that's what I like about it ~D)
Here's a funny one!

Thank you, Noble Ghost of Banquo for opening this thread. May your children be blessed and inherit the crown of Scotland.

Not sure if this qualifies as a political cartoon, but its a parody of the Bush admin. and Star Wars. I'm sorry George Lucas; I couldn't resist.
Found this about a year ago so I don't know who did this but its funny.

Apologise all and sundry.
This one is of course from the last bit of the seizing of that RN boat.
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...tzka/corky.jpg
This one is from a few years ago and was made in reference to the Israeli/Palestinian fighting but I feel it still very relevant today and of course for more than that conflict.
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v.../CostOfWar.gif
This one is of course when the Bush adminstration finally decided to change a bit of what they were doing. I think this is from early '06, not sure though.
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...petzka/bok.jpg
And then these two aren't cartoons but I post them anyhow because I think they make a point in the same manner political cartoons do. It's just pointing out the different covers of Newsweek and Time magazine when marketing within the US or abroad.
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...the20world.jpg
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...n20jihadis.jpg
that one that says
"we are no longer the knights who stay the course"
those knights in the back looks like teutons from the prussian crusade.
It's a spoof on the Knights Who Say Ni (nee? Nie?) from Monty Python's Holy Grail, and the knights in the background look almost exactly like those Knights Who Say Ni.Quote:

spmetla, those last two are not so much funny as profoundly worrying... ~:(
We're losing Afghanistan to the Taliban even after our occupation???
You would think Newsweek would capitalize on that topic since they're mainly pro-Democrat.
I can understand that Time would change it b/c they're pro-Republican but why did Newsweek change their covers?
Here's a spoof on the movie Superbad and Bush/Cheney

:bump: If y'all don't mind; I'll just post a picture everyday.:bump:

that´s going a little too far....
I feel like saying stuff about Dubya that would make the mods here explode...but comparing him to Hitler is a bit much don´t you think?
That graphic definitely violates Godwin's Law. Shame, shame I say! This graphic, on the other hand, is far scarier:
I have just one question...Quote:

Louis, can you translate following? My French doesn't include slang sadly.
Roux

PD
Great cartoons btw
edit:
Justiciar, I think it means "stupid"
Ah. Danke.
Roux means redheads.
I already regret posting it. Somewhat. Few of the qualifications are fit for print, even by Backroom standards, but I can not post it and then withold you a translation, so here goes, reluctantly:
(I should've known this would happen) ~:mecry:
Bonasses - suckers, as in a good natured fool
Roux - reds, redheads
On s'en fout - we don't care, or better, since it's not very polite: we don't give a damn
Putes - whores
Mafia - mafia
Vodka - vodka
Alcoolos - binge drinkers. Boozers I think is the English term
Faineants - sluggard, or rather: lazy ****s
Poilues - shaggy, as in rough-haired persons
Teubé - (verlan, reversed 'bête', for all you confused French speakers) nuts
Toxicos - derogatory term for people under the influence of drugs
Fachos - fascists, but it's ruder than proper 'fascist'
Lents - sluggards?, but more in the sense of slow of understanding than lazy
Voleurs - thieves
PD - 'pédérastes', gays
Accordeonistes - accordeonists
Maison - home
It, er...naturally the object of the cartoon is ridiculisation of the narrow-mindedness of the French, and not any perceived character traits of foreigners. :sweatdrop:
And 'tis only that that saved it.Quote:

Thanks Bijo! I like baby first's cartoon.
I'm getting tired of Iraq; lets move on to Iran.

Never seen that one before.
How about.....

A couple of good cartoons that attack John Bull. How dare the British drag us into a continental war, I ask you? Sirrah, those limeys won't like what Uncle Sam has ready for 'em!
Not so much a cartoon, more a photograph that Australians would understand.
It is entitled "Howard casts his shadow"
http://www.abc.net.au/reslib/200710/r194938_739903.jpg
Hint: If you can't see it, look at the sign where his head it.
Here's one about NZ internet, not exactly politics though:
https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...F/ffddc415.jpg
And here are a few about NZ politics, they're a bit old but quite funny if you get them. I think they're pretty self explanatory:

https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...F/6e8bc0b3.jpg
https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...F/56a9f36c.jpg
And here is an American one that I quite like:
https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...F/06f7baa0.jpg
Bush is such an easy target. Lazy cartoonists.
How about these lazy photographers since they're attacking Bush

If I could only draw well I would be setting up a website to provide social critique.
I don't know who made this but I feel that this is a good response to the French view of the Europe:

Should´t Canada be "Moose heads"? I don´t get were the "mouse" comes from
The American Map is much more accurate.
I had to deal with the sewage breakdown about a week ago, does that mean they're a hundred years old?
Here's some more!

You're right Ronin it should be spelled moose. Like I said I don't know who made it. Some of thsese have been on my harddrive for a long time.
What's the red bit that says "Don't go here"? North Korea isn't that far south is it? Or is it Cambodia?Quote:

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...8694814680.jpg
is it just me or does that picture look like a fish with a hat on
If you look at it the other way, it looks like an elephant with a hat on.
Makes you wonder what Mexico is.

Uhh, I didn't noticed how my statement was worded. What I meant was since Canada was the Hat; perhaps Mexico was the pantaloons or the shoes.
However, for you people who took my statement the wrong way.
That wouldn't work since Florida is the front legs Texas is the hindlegs so correct me if I'm wrong; Mexico would be in the wrong spot for that organ.
Mexico would probably be an extension of the hindlegs.
Once again, I am sorry for the misunderstanding.

Does the witch on the broom say Hillary? :laugh4:
The old Soviet classic, Krokodil.

How youknowwho lost her place in paradise.
'but god, you have such long toes'
Another Halloween cartoon...this is based on a recent poll conducted which presidential candidate would make the scariest Halloween costume.
Hillary and Guiliani were about equal with no one else even coming close; not even Fred Thompson or McCain.
https://i225.photobucket.com/albums/...lary_masks.jpg
I would've thought that Thompson would be up there?
Here's another cartoon

Well, its been two days, so I will post another one. :bump:
I just got my dad the second season box set of Lost for his christmas present so I decided to find a Lost themed cartoon. Enjoy!
