Angers has been relieved and Rennes is now held by Imperial troops my lords.
Our spies have done good work in opening the gates while the craven Lancelot de Bordeaux fled to the supposed safety of the city walls.
Given that the city was inhabited purely by Imperial turncoats and French heathens, the place has been ransacked to compensate for the loss of Imperial lives, to pay for the reparations of several of our cities and most importantly, to allow construction in Swabia. About 23,000 florins have entered our treasury this way and a further 6,000 from the destruction of a vile Coaching House and a Master Thieves Guild. The ransom of the French besieging Angers netted another 2,400 florins.
The city is ready to be handed to whomever the chancellor wishes, now that it has been purified.
That said, I wish that with the newly acquired funds, all ordered construction in Swabia and the Imperial province of Angers be performed and several of our city structures be repaired. Garrisons and armies are to be bolstered.
If the chancellor objects to my wishes, I would like to know before the end of the offensive season.
