The troops brought to Belgrade under Aleksios ek Ikoniou have been reinforced with more Skythikons and the Byzaninte Spearmen taken from the Castle earlier were also retrained.

The same is true for Byzantine Cavalry in Sofia.

I thank Aleksios ek Ikoniou for letting me use the docks at Corinth. Two new Dromons should be joining Admiral Niphos shortly who has begun his blockade of Ragusa port.

On the matter of fleets. Since Theo Petzeas has agreed earlier to return ships to Isaakios Komnenos should he require them, I hope the matter of their Civil War can be ended amenable.

With the Prioritized Buildings out of the way some more construction was started this year.

The conversion of Tortosa from a Castle to a town was begun. I hope this will help our finances in the future.

In recognition of the money taken from Kosmopolis a small Chapel is currently built to commemorate the victory of the one true faith.

Funds have been given to Nevoulion to repair the damage inflicted during the recent riots.

Domestic Affairs:

Savvas ek Militou is about to join forces just east of Scopia. He has my permission to use the troops under the nearby Captain.

Apasios Melachrinos has intention to become the husband of Rosanna Mavrozomis. If those responsible for young Rosanna could inform me of their approval or disapproval it would be much appreciated.

The citizens of Dongola have rioted after the removal of the garrison. It was a rather quiet affair though.

Foreign Affairs:

The Venetians have moved towards our territory. There are currently two small detachments making their way towards Durazzo and Belgrade respectively. Those generals venturing towards Ragusa and Zagreb should prepare for this opposition along their way.

I have to deny the rumours in the streets that Kiev the capital of our allies has fallen to a foreign power and that we need to send help to our allies in this time of need. It appears the leader of the Kievan Rus has been thrown out of his own capital by his unhappy subjects. I am sure he will be able to control the situation eventually.

The Pope has shown his incompetence once again. His Crusade has crumbled to nothing only a few years after it started. It seems the so-called faith of our neighbours was not enough to drive them onwards.

To boost our economy Markets are being improved in Thessalonike, Athens and Bucharest.

I am proud to announce that in Constantinople the foundation has been laid for the Basileus Ioannis public baths. I am sure all Senators will appreciate this addition to our capital.

The Council of Nobles seems to have a peculiar sense of humor. As a "reward" for blockading Ragusa port an assembly of Peasants has shown up in Constantinople. I ask Tiverios Indikoplefstis to send them back to their farms where they belong.

Foreign Affairs:

The leaders of Spain and Denmark have died this year.

A small Sicilian force has landed on Crete. I will try to investigate this most peculiar move as soon as possible.

The Seljuk Turks are expanding again and have now besieged Edessa.
