    Default Starting w/o settlements?

    I would like to know how to make a faction (preferably the normans) start without settlements? Just faction leader and heir already placed on the map.
    How to unpack specific files to they respective folders:
    make a new .cmd in Medieval II Total War\tools\unpacker and put this inside after you right-click edit.
    Code:
    unpacker --source="..\..\packs\*.pack" --destination=..\..\--filter=[name of file goes here w/o brackets]

    Hmmm you would have to make them a horde faction for that and then add them similar to Mongols to descr_strat and campaign_script.
    Want gunpowder, mongols, and timurids to appear when YOU do?

    but mongols appear after sometime and with script, I want to play the faction. How do I make it so that it doesn't give me automatic loss when I play faction w/o settlements? Like the vandals in RTW:BI. The vandals start as horde and w/o settlements and are playable.

    As I said, make them a horde faction and place their units on the map or let them spawn via campaign script.
