Thread: RTR vs EB?

    Default RTR vs EB?

Having never played Rome Total Realism I wondered if anyone here has, and what are your opinions on it, and also how does it compare to EB? Cheers

Just try out both. We're not allowed to discuss about such things here as from what I hear, generally turns into a flamefest regarding which one's better. It's an opinion, and you should formulate your own.

And remember to keep it polite people, so as not to slate Rome Total Realism(not that anyone needs reminding, eh?).

oh my bad, didnt realise that! didnt mean to start a RTR/EB war, was just genuinely wondering what people think about the two. if a mod wants to lock or delete this thread i totally understand.

    Here we go again.

Some people enjoy RTR. I do.

    Some people don't.

    Enough said.

RTR is alot like EB just with 3 less factions(they don't use the Roman factions because of the fog of war) and without the script.

It runs much faster than EB because of the script and the sheer amount of content of EB.

On my desktop from 2001 I have RTR, it runs fine, I have EB on my new laptop, it runs fine(very slow after the 3 hour mark, but thats a RTW problem). So if you have a crappy computer, have RTR, a good computer EB.
This doesn't mean that RTR is bad, its just a tad behind the times.

I still play RTR when I need a break from EB.

EB's just got more stuff. IMHO that makes it a superior game. I played RTR for a while, and it was very fun, but EB is just a much more complete game.

Sorry, I should have closed this after post 5. I thought folks were just going to let it go. Oh well.
