His stated intention is to tell the truth about Islam as he perceives it: a threat to civilization. Whatever else moves him, I wouldn't know. I would speculate that fear, coupled with his forced personal isolation for the last two years, goes a long way toward explaining the phenomenon. Which is not to say that the film will be bad, after all I haven't seen it...
