Thread: Are you in love with someone?

Default Are you in love with someone?

Hello. I am new here. I just like to discuss about your crushes and all. I have one myself. For some weird reason I like to call her "Marshal Ney". So, do you have any crushes named after historical figures?

Just to clear things up so there is no confusion - This is a gaming forum filled with pubescent boys, "old fogies", and hairpin throwing frog mods... and camels... Speaking for myself, I have barely got "a life". So to speak.

But anyway, on topic, I don't have a girl, as of yet. I haven't finished my Senior Schooling years, I plan on finishing my education, including uni, before I go on with girls... drugs... and booze (even though I've already mingled with two of those).

Yes, if you call strong appreciation of appearance and personality "love", but I haven't quite got the nerve to ask them out for a date/drink/whatever you want to call it yet. I flirt, they just return a few very encouraging glances. So far things look very promising from my standpoint.

As for nicknames - not really.

I am honestly ashamed of you lot. WTF guys. honestly i am not in love (tho somtimes i question ) but i at least have a commited girlfreind. but the only name i have for her is “perky”, she doesnt like it much but i like her when she is a little ticked ...spices things up.

but i am most ashamed of Insane, i'll admit they can be a bit distracting (actually have a funny story bought her “distracting” me lol) but come on man if there is one thing more important than videogames its women.

I have finally found the love of my life, after many many long lonely years. And I found plenty of time for her, the Org. and other random gaming. Everything is just fantastic. As for nicknames, I simply call her mine, with out the possessiveness.

    Not quite in love... yet...

But I am seeing someone. Her name is Felicia, and she's not only stunningly beautiful, but she has a mind and a personality I truly could fall in love with.

I met her one day while working at my pathetic little "I need money for college" job, where she came in for an oil change. I was immediately blown away by how gorgeous she is, but I've never had all that much luck with the prettier girls, so I thought little of it.

However, as I was talking to her, I was able to scout some vital information from her, in between my dull and mundane questions... "what kind of oil would you prefer... did you want an air filter changed...." etc.

I saw she had a daughter, but no ring. I also heard her mention her ex husband. This indicates to me that she's possibly very single. She had just moved to the area, and she still had her out-of-state tags.

I managed to work some humor into the discussion, and I got her to smile and laugh at my jokes... always a good sign.

Unable to let this chance pass me by, I made sure her vehicle was done quickly and correctly, and then I parked it personally and left a slip of paper with my phone number on it in her car, right where she could see it.

I didn't expect her to call... she's so far out of my league it's not even funny. I'm a reasonably good looking guy, but I'm no George Clooney. She is Aphrodite incarnate.

We went out on our first date recently... had Sonny's barbecue, and sat in her car afterwards chatting. Then I took her for a ride, and we drove all around town just getting to know one another. Then I drove her back and allowed her to escape, just in case she wasn't enjoying the date. However, she invited me into her car, and she took me for a drive. I suggested we go to the beach. It was getting cool out, and it was 1am, but it was a very romantic night.

Well, we had our first kiss on the beach... and then we steamed up the windows in the backseat of her car, kissing for literally 3 hours. It was almost 5am when we decided to head back. And we had to actually take a towel and wipe the condensation off of the inside of her windows.

Needless to say, we had our second date the very next night. But you get the idea.

I've never been so fortunate or blessed to have such a girl... I sincerely hope you all never give up, and never ever sell yourselves short. There are women out there with stunning beauty and great personalities, who just want a nice, fair-looking guy who will treat them like a queen. Just treat them right and they will do the same for you.

And it NEVER HURTS to give out your number. Trust me, even if you fail 30 times or 100 times in a row, you will find someone eventually and you will be thanking your lucky stars you followed my advice. I never thought it could happen to me... I completely suck at asking women out. This is the first one who actually accepted, and she's way better than any I've ever had the nerve to ask out before.

Don't aim low. Don't settle. Take the initiative, but be a gentleman about it. And if you're rejected, move on, don't take it personally.

Anyhoo that's my story and I'm happy to share it with you. Best of luck to all those who are lonely or pining for someone... I once loved someone who didn't love me back. You have to move on, really. Even if you don't believe it, love can happen again. I once thought it was unique... but thankfully, it is not. This way you can love, lose, and love again.

May your romantic dreams all come true.

EDIT: PS- Ladies, if you're single... take off your rings. Leave them at home. Let us know you're single.

...err, you do know Ney ended up being executed for treason by a firing squad?

I'm married, and she isn't historically inclined, so I'd be tempted to call her General Galtieri, because his refusal to learn from history broke him.

Post Re: Are you in love with someone?

My courting efforts didn't quite go to plan.

Last week, on an evening in with a few friends, I mentioned my said attraction to the individual. Somehow, this managed to get to the person. Initially they didn't seem impressed, even though I did deny it, although later on that seemed to change into the said encouraging glances. Also, in the past, whenever I had commented on the current relationship, they never responded and almost went into a trance. This could mean many things, but I interpreted it as doubt.

I've liked this person for almost seven months. I've never said anything though due to them already being in a relationship and the fact that they simply are a little out of my league. These reactions influenced me to give it a try, so, following my instincts I did.

Further on in the week, it seemed to be forgotten about though, so I asked a couple of the guys in the office to mention it in passing conversation. The person would then be reminded of my feelings for them and would then be encouraged to make a move if they wanted to. I'm not a very confident person, so I always either ask somebody else to do my dirty work for me, or encourage the person I like to act instead.

They forgot to mention it to the target and, due to this, my plan did not really work. As before, it was still forgotten about on the Monday morning. I reminded them that they had not mentioned it to the individual - they claimed to have forgotten entirely.

Regardless of this, they immaturely nagged me about it all morning and, by chance, the person happened to walk past, and heard it all.

As you may expect, they confronted me and, quite abruptly, told me they were in no way interested and they had their existing partner already. I then enquired as to if they were not with their current partner if they may be attracted to me. The answer was a resounding no - I simply wasn't their type. I asked the person if they were planning on telling their lover, not a very friendly person, of my feelings for them. This answer was a yes.

They then left the area, and returned to their portion of the room. Of course this could have been due to the presence of others, but I somehow doubt it due to the strength of their response.

Now I've just got to face up to their current partner. Presumably this will occur tomorrow.

I suppose this is a nicer response from the initial person than my last attempt though - "[insert bad language here] and die" is not really a very nice way of turning down a date. I suppose I deserved it though - it was the second attempt in the timespan of two weeks.

Perhaps in the future I will encounter fewer cases of unrequited feelings. All the attempts I have ever made of forming a relationship with an individual have never even got started, never mind actually gone anywhere. I really thought there might be a chance this time around - clearly not. On occasions I doubt my life is ever going to go anywhere when it comes to romantic affairs.

My initial post still withstanding, the most recent crushes I've had have screwed up my life in ways reserved for the Backroom, and that pretty much convinces me She just ain't worth the trouble unless I can assemble a band of raiders, ride into her village, and carry her off a'la "10,000 BC".
