Interested in being a senator and participating in votes, also in discussions and presenting proposals to the Senate.

However, I'd rather be an older senator who is too old to be appointed to an active military command.

    Alright gents.

Mini if you don't have anything against it, I'll just start off as temporary GM.

    Provisional Rules:

-Each player/senator chooses a REAL roman name.
-4 players are to be chosen 2 Consuls, 1 Praetor, and 1 Quaestor.
-Voting will be non-Roleplay, i.e there will be no RP event of the voting.
-After the voting is done the senior Consul elected, will create a Romani game, on H/H and huge units. And throughout the first 8 turns will be responsible for moving the units and such in his game. Each day the senate will decided what to do with the following 1years(4 turns).
-Voting ends at the end of the day(Players discuss and set the time for end of voting).

-After a period of 4 years, the Senior consul will send the save file to the newly elected senior consul.

Please feel free to change, or mend the rules to satisfy everyone.

    One more thing
Of course the Consul has to "send regular reports" to the senate of what happens during his term.
how far he takes this, he can chose himself.
I tend to advice the senate as a consul that building x is necessary in city y, and even take that for a vote, but hey if you're a rich consul you can give the building order yourself unless vetoed.
The more lenient a consul is, the more he feeds the senate when it comes to discussion topics. He 'shares the fun' with the entire forum.
of course I understand some ppl may end up in fighting a few battles in their term, which makes for logn battle updates, so I don't OBLIGE a latitude of things that should be included in regular reports

    Battles have to be reported.
Diplomatic negotiations (well these have to be approved by the senate anyway)

Adoption offers should be mentioned to the person who controls the benefactor FM.
Also the births of new sons should be mentioned to the player controlling the FM (the list of FM players will be uploaded by me so consuls can check) These sons can be offered to players currently not being an FM player by their own choice if they want. If they have no opinion on the matter not, I either hand them out to anyone willing when they become 16, or put them under the consuls command.

And with a conclusion of his term he has to deliver a conclusive report.
(in general, an overview of the game: finance, diplo, maybe even troop placements.) so the ppl that roleplay know what's going on.

If possible, the consul also has to UPLOAD his save game, so RP senators can load it and take a look around.

And of course, if a battle -or adoption- or whatever concerning a FM that is being controlled by a FM occurs, this player has to be contacted and informed.

In order to speed things up, everyone with a FM udner control will only be able to play his battles. Everything else he will have to talk over with the consul (eg: movement)
If every player wants to move his own FM, we'll never make progress.

It is therefor importan to keep your forum inbox with space left, and to keep a regular eye on it if u are a FM player.

So keep your eyes open, the RP thread will open soon, aswell with the handing out of the first FM's.

I'll be playing as Dentatus, which means I'll be the first consul. That enables me to open a game and a thread, and get things going a bit, aswell as serve as a - so I hope- good example of how a consul should act.
Since Dentatus was named Dictator in reality once, I will act on it and play without tribunes the first term.
Not to do anything special, just to get the game going.
I'll open a thread where ppl can start roleplaying after my opening update, and after 6-7 turns I'll open a poll to elect someone new :)

Keep an eye out for the RP thread, and look here for the handing out of FM's soon.

I will open a Senate thread soon, where ppl can introduce themselves in a RP way. I will also start a game to get things going since this was my idea :blushes:

All votes concerning game progress will take place in the RP thread.

If the mods don't mind, I would like to open a seperate poll once in a while with consul/tribune elections, as poll-style threads are easy to work with.

Further questions can be made here, in pm or e-mail me.
Does EB have IRC channel on quakenet by any chance?

I'm not going anywhere, I just have to spend my remaining unofficial hollidays with my current work before I switch to my new job mid-may.

I got no vacation trip planned or anything, so i'll be dividing my time between EB and GF ;-)

    no worries!

Well, in the light of RP'ing, that would be a bit silly now wouldn't it :)

i'm not saying I object against it, but imagine other people will have to adress you with that name, might steal their RP fun..

    But hey, i'm lenient :)

How do we break that down? Romans weren't known by their first name in public. So do we call you "XX XX, pater familias of the XXi"?
