Thread: Triumph conditions

    Default Triumph conditions

I have a general with SPQR who is well on his way to recieving a triumph, however it says the senate must deam him worthy of a triumph, and he must be named imperator by his troops. How do I achieve these two conditions, just carry on conquering and he gets the triumph when the faction Im getting (Audei) is eliminated?

The faction doesn't have to be eliminated. Just keep fighting battles, preferably with odds against you or, at most, 1:1 odds. You'll get that imperator trait eventually and the triumph will come soon after.

I have never successfully gotten a Triumph. Whenever the possibility first pops up, I get all excited and try to meet the conditions. I even got Imperator a few times - once for a guy who sat on his a@# governing a city - but have never been awarded a Triumph. I know Triumphs played an integral role in Roman society, but I guess I'm just missing something. At this point, I've written them off.

The conditions for receiving a triumph have been relaxed significantly for 1.1. They are now linked to the "Vanquisher of" traits, so it's no longer necessary to be named Imperator to recieve a triumph.

Exactly. I was quite surprised when L.C. Scipio got the Triumphator trait without being Imperator.

I think that is good, historically Triumphs were very common in Rome, you could get one for basically just beating up a couple of rebels armed with sticks. At least if your daddy was consul.

Well, being named "Imperator" did not automatically mean to be awarded with Triumphus... Imperator was a reward from commanded troops, while Triumphus was a reward from the whole society and the state, for defeating an enemy the Republic was at war with.

BTW: how can a character get his "Corona Civica" reward? This was given for saving another Roman citizen in battle, but in my 1.0 Romani campaign one of my FMs received such Corona after a battle or two n Spain against Carths, yet I wasn't sure, what was sooutstanding in his action... and now I'm wthinking whether the other Coronae exist in game - Corona Muralis (for being the first one on attacked city's wals), Corona Navalis (for victory in naval battle) and - most honoured - Corona Graminea (Garland of Grass), for saving an entire army from imminent doom (the one L. Cornelius Sulla earned during Social War) => IMHO they would be veeery nice to receive
