Online Historical Novels?

The time periods I am most interested in are from 300BC to probably encompassing the Medieval Era. Any links would be greatly appreciated, I will post what I find aswell.

The Chinese classic Romance of the Three Kingdoms is available online as an edited version of the Brewitt-Taylor english translation. It tells the tale of the wartorn time between the end of the Han dynasty and the beginning of the Jin dynasty, with such famed people as Lu Bu, Cao Cao, Sun Ce, Sun Quan, Zhuge Liang and the "Three Brothers" Liu Bei, Guan Yu & Zhang Fei as it's characters of focus.

Be warned that this book, written and edited by several authors over centuries, is not historically accurate. It has myths woven into the history and is influenced by political bias. It is nevertheless a wonderful story to read.

They got an English verion of the book? I thought it was impossible to translate something like that. Did you know the Chinese are going to make a massive film about the battle of the 'Red Cliff'. It comes in two parts. Part one due to be released around June I think.

I was under the impression that it was a mixture of folk tales and historical anecdotes complied into a coherent, continuous narrative by a single person, in the Ming Dynasty.

Yeah! I'm very excited about that, it's my favourite battle of the saga. Hopefully they don't butcher it. It's not impossible to translate: I own at least three different English translations, two by scholars in China, one by scholars in Singapore.

I don't know all the details about the real battle of 'Red Cliff'. Just that not as many men participated in it than the novels says. Cao Cao's forces were certainly vast outnumbered the Wu-Shu Alliance. Four to one or something like that. Anyway in the novel Zhuge Liang is portrayled as the ultimate stragiest, in Rome: TW he'd have 10 in all his traits.
