Ya, Battlestar is an extremily slick well produced piece of awesome, but Firefly is a genuine work of love. It was hard saying bye to the characters after all we have been through, feeled kinda empty

You were right about the movie, the series is much more fun.

Well I just finished watching tonight's episode "Guess What's Coming to Dinner", and all I can say is....

Holy crap!! The is well and truly hitting the fan now.

I don't even know where to begin on this one. All I can think of to say at the moment is that I'm *extremely* annoyed that we now have to wait 2 weeks for the next episode.

    Gah!! I'll never make it!

Can't believe that we have to wait 2 weeks either and I'm finally starting to have more free time too....

There is just one thing thats bothering me:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
When Roslin wanted to find out about the Opera House, why did she call for Helo? Shouldn't she have asked for Athena since Athena was the one actually in her visions?

I can only speculate as to why, but I would guess that at least one reason is that

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Helo is one of the few senior officers in whom she still has some trust. For obvious reasons, Laura's never really gotten along with Colonel Tigh or (especially) Athena, and she no longer trusts Starbuck since she now believes her to be a probable Cylon. Lee is a civilian now, and a member of the Quorum -- not that she particularly trusts him anymore in any case. And she's certainly not going to get Adama himself to act as her errand boy.

So really, Helo is about the only logical choice left.

Of course, knowing this show as we do, I strongly suspect there are deeper reasons for Roslin choosing him as well. I dare not guess what those might be, however; it would probably warp my fragile little mind just thinking about.

2 weeks ? I really hate them for that !!!

Anyway I must say it has been a while since any TV show made me so much interested.

Surely I loved the previous seasons, but the last one is just getting better and better. I wasn't sure about the Demetrius plot with the episode with the mutiny being a bit odd, but after the mission was concluded it is even more impressive than before.

And I hate the last cliffhanger, with the Demetrius mission and the civil war happening at the same time I thought I can at least predict something -

Let's see: Admiral Adama resigning (going on sabbatical?) and turning command of the fleet over to Tigh, Romo freaking out while convincing Lee to be President....sheesh.

Did I forget anything? Oh yeah:

Caprica Six is pregnant, and Tigh is the father??!! Definitely did *not* see that one coming at all.... (Although in retrospect, perhaps I should've.)

Same reaction here as Martok, tons of surprises this episode.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I just can;t picture Tight impregnating Six. Come on? Doesn't he know better even if he is a Cylon?

Lee Adama I could actually see as President. He has that kind of personality imo.

I was a bit dissapointed at not being able to see what happened in the baseship that jumped this episode, but I guess we will see tons next week in the Hub

I actually saw the whole "President Lee" thing coming a while ago, although I didn't think it was going to happen this soon (even if his position does wind up being only temporary).

As for Tigh knocking up Caprica Six....my mind still boggles at the thought. There's so many questions there: Is he genuinely attracted to her, or is he consciously/unconsciously superimposing Ellen's face over Six's? Does his attraction extend to genuine feelings, or is it mostly just sex for him? What's different about Tigh that would enable them to impregnate a fellow Cylon (in other words, why can Tigh reproduce with a fellow Cylon when the original 4 male Cylons cannot)? And most of all, what exactly are the implications of a 100% Cylon baby??

GAH!! Can't wait to see what happens next week on the Baseship/Resurrection Hub.

yeah it was pretty obvious as soon as he quit the military.

Well It had been stated by Ron Moore that the Final Five are "Significantly" different from the others.

I'd say it's important about who the Hybrid Children are.

Hera - Human Father Cylon (7) Mother
Nicky - Cylon (5) Father Human Mother
Saul Jr. - Cylon (5) Father Cylon (7) Mother

While I normally subscribe to the writer's rule of If you've ever considered having someone become pregnant as a plot twist - choke yourself. I have to admit the caprica six thing didn't bother me, in fact it both made sense and shocked the heck right outta me.. a full blooded cylon baby to boot!

Then there's Admiral Adama.. Man where to start? I never saw this coming even after seeing the baseship jump away. I knew he'd be unable to be objective... but to both release power and hanging out all alone in a raptor waiting for signs of Rosilyn? The old man's come a long way.

Perhaps I should just start thinking up the wildest, completely insane thing I can come up with in regards to the BSG plot. Odds are that is where the show is going next week.

This is kinda spoilery regarding the next episode

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
According top the previews I saw, in the next episode, D'anna gets unboxed by Cavil and Boomer, but she immedietely breaks Cavil's neck and manages to join up with the rebels.

Once she does, she meets with Roslin and the others and reveals that one of them is the final five. Now, in the previews it shows Roslin shocked right after 3 said that, but it might not necessarily mean her. The problem is, we know that Tigh, the assistant person, and Tyrol are on Galactica. That only leaves Anders who we still don't know yet is on the baseship. That means that we may be able to find out who is the final fifth cylon of the final five

Whatever the previews for next episode indicated/hinted at, I highly doubt we're going to discover the identity of the 12th Cylon already. That's one of the biggest clubs still left in the show's bag, and it just doesn't make much sense that they'd reveal it so soon.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Even if D'anna tells Roslin that she's the 12th Cylon, I don't think I'd believe it -- it's more likely she'd lie to her about something like that.

Also, another thing to consider is that according to Ron Moore, the 12th Cylon does not appear in the Last Supper-style picture on the show's website. Now of course it's possible he could be lying about that just to throw off the fans, but I don't think he is.

Ok. Just watched the bonus episode with the pegasus. What they could have done is seperate story's in full series because both commanders are so different in their approach. From what I see here without the spoilers season 4 is good as well. More of this kinda thing please.

I surprisingly enjoyed Razor alot even though I had my doubts. Its style was pretty different from the normal episodes IMO, but it was nice seeing how another battlestar got through the attacks.

Biggest difference in season 4 here is that every episode is intended to further the main plot along. Whether that happened alot in some of the earlier episodes ie S04E03-E05 is debatable, but there are no stand alone episodes.

    About the latest episode...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Lee the president of the Colonies - it was predictable, but I never thought it could happen so quickly and in such a way - especially with the 'insane' lawyer stuff... of sourse every lawyer is a bit mad, but this was something which made much jaw dropping to the floor...

The admiral resigning - that was shocking. Now I can expect everything, I guess...

Caprica Six pregnant adds even more to the puzzle.

And of course I loved the fact there is no viable information what happened with the baseship...

Perhaps I am wrong, but the 4th season is reaching levels of the best from the best. It will be interesting how the first part of the season is finished. A real challenge to keep the show so good and honestly it is the ending which matters most, especially years after the show is over.

Basically, you see Roslin having a hallucination? and see the dead priest on an abandoned Galactica. At the end of the preview, Roslin sees herself apparently dying or in a very dire condition

I just realized that after The Hub, there is only going ot be one episode before the midseason break. I don't know how the heck I am going to be able to wait until 2009 to find out the ending of the show

Well the Roslin-Adama shippers will certainly be happy with last night's episode. (I will admit they are pretty cute together, and I like their chemistry.) It's way past time that she found her heart again.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Also, I totally cracked up at the scene between her and D'anna. The look on Laura's face really was priceless when D'anna told her she was the Final Cylon.

From the previews, next week's episode should be even more interesting (if that's even possible!)....

Again I must reapeat - another great episode !

Actually I have just realised only three or so episodes were less than very good or simply superb...
They were not joking saying that the series will end with style and improving its quality.

All right, let's add a word or two about the Hub...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The only thing which left me a bit disappointed was Leoben - it seems his part was not written properly - I guess that was the idea, not to make it even more crowded with plots than it was. Probably for the same reason the previous episode had so little space for Starbuck who should be a bit more concerned about the mission. But again that could be hard to squeeze into the crowd of major plots to follow. Besides I felt similar with earlier episodes - that something was missing - only to notice later that it could hardly be better than it was.

The strenghts of 'the Hub' in no particular order:

    - the space battle - amazing, spectacular and made sense on tactical level as usual,

    - Roslin and Adama finally reaching the breaking point of the mature relationship between adult, experienced people,

    - Balthar - the confession and the 'discussion' with the centurion - excellent !

    - the otherwordly, 'mystic' parts of the episode - reminds me the DS9 and no wonder, but this time it is even better,

    - Roslin - very well written, very well played, clearly something to remember. A Golden Globe ? Hard to tell, but the 4th series will be difficult to ignore even if some people do not like SF.

    - D'anna (corected spelling)- I expected more God fearing, devout cylon - I am glad it is not the case, though I wonder how the entire thing with the Final Five will be played now...
And yes - the part with 'revealing the truth to Roslin ' was great. :)

    - several excellent lines - 'you were not married to the entire production line'
    or - 'I love you',
    - 'About time...'

It seems the series reaches the real maturity combining all aspects of a good show in a single episode - humour, action, religion, death, politics, love and so on.

Most likely a 'must get' DVD when it is released.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
My only dissapointment with this episode is that Boomer didn't even have any lines. I was half expecting for Helo and Fakethena to bump into her on the Hub.

That being said, do you guys think Boomer made it off the Hub or is the story arc with her and Cavil done?

Well obviously Cavil is done -- that goes without saying. As for Boomer, my feeling is she made it off the Hub before it blew. I think that if Ron Moore was going to kill her off, he would make sure the audience knew it.

Also, as a completely random aside: Do you realize who the Fleet's second-ranking officer is at the moment (until Adama and Helo return)? That's almost as frightening a thought as Tigh being back in charge.

Also: I wonder what will happen with Lee once Roslin's back.

My only dissapointment with this episode is that Boomer didn't even have any lines. I was half expecting for Helo and Fakethena to bump into her on the Hub.

    Err....you meant Fakeathena, didn't you ?

That being said, do you guys think Boomer made it off the Hub or is the story arc with her and Cavil done?
NO chance - she survived for sure and most likely did that with the same Cavil killed by D'anna.
You are not killing so unique character in not this way.

It would be incredibly stupid if it ended in some sort of off screen 'action' - 'BTW guys, Bomer is dead, she slipped on a banana skin while leaving the Hub and didn't make it, but we still have a thousand hot, Cylon women so dodn't worry...

Here are the Canadian and US previews for the mid-season finale, Revelations.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I found it relatively surprising that 3 would out the final five as quickly as she did. It seemed like she would at least try to barter for as much as she could get out of that knowledge.

Towards the end of the canadian promo, Adama says while crying essentially "What have I done? All the people I've sent to die" That seemed extremely emotional and very well acted on EJO's behalf. There is alot of speculation that the fleet may actually find or reach it temporarily in some fashion, only to discover that it is a wasteland or nearly uninhabitable

I've stopped watching the previews for the next episode of BSG. They either give too much away or they're fake outs. It's not worth the tease.

It's sad, I felt I waited so long for new eps, and now here's another long hiatus coming up. Very cruel. I guess I'll just have to get by with Aztec Rex.

Well, regarding the upcoming hiatus, according to the Canadian preview, Battlestar won't be returning until 2009...
