    Default Weird CTD

I’m getting a weird CTD. I’m playing a Roman campaign with 1.1. I try to load my game and every time I do, the game CTDs within about one minute, even if I don’t do anything. I’ve tried to load old saves, and they do the same. I deleted map.rwm, but it still does the same thing. It’s really annoying, and it comes just as my campaign was getting good.

Please try to reboot your computer, and run the validation too.

Additionally, you should run memtest overnight (google it) as well as a scandisk run, and try to upgrade (or even downgrade!) your graphics drivers.

OK, I'll do those (I already restarted my computer to no effect).

As a further note, however, I find that I can start a new campaign game with no problem. But when I load a saved game, the second I move the mouse, the game CTDs.

Fooling around with my savegames, I don't think it has anything to do with my RAM or graphics. Its just that some (not all, I find) of my save games are not working. Here is one of the savegames: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PAYCEX4S
I'd really appreciate if you'd take a look and see what's going on. Thanks.

I just tried your save. It appears to work perfectly. I ended the turn a few times. No crashes. Didn't fight any battles on the field map though.

I'm going to say it's something wrong with your installation. Try a reinstallation.

This is usually a sign of faulty drivers or hardware, which is why I suggested hardware-related measures.

Yeah, I know. But I've been playing EB on this computer since .81, plus some other RTW mods, but this is the first time such a things happens, and it ony happens with a few of my save files (the save games from my Roman campaign), all other savegames work fine and new campaigns work fine. This all leads me to think it is not a hardware problem.
