Don't you think they are a bit weak ?

Lies we can believe in
Not really... their units are basically the same as the Seleukids, they just start off in a bad situation.
How so? I assume you mean AI controlled? In my campaigns they do well surviving. In my recent roman campaign, they are conquering like mad, already have taken a sizable chunk of asia minor, but seems to be a fluke. Historically, they really didn't become much of a power till late in the game, I think that EB has them just right at the moment.
Colder than a gut-shot bitch wolf dog with nine suckin' pups pulling a #4 trap up a hill in the dead of winter in the middle of a snowstorm with a mouth full of porcupine quills.

Mithridiates...
nough said lol.
One question...and im about to get flamed for this but...
Where does it say that pontus used scythed chariots? All I remember reading about pontus fighting against rome was an army of cavalry and infantry....
In at least one major pitched battle with the Romans. I can go dig up the book for the specific reference cited if you want, but...

Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

Well, if it wouldnt bother you lol, does sound interesting, I hope those chariots fared better than what they did against my epeirotes lol
Pontus is 1337, you just have to get some scythians in your ranks and some Phalangitai and Galatians, and you should have no problems with conquering anatolia.
In My Pontus campign im trying to recreate the historical empire of King Mithridates.. very exciting.![]()

At least Battle of Chaeronea, 86BC. Couldn't find exact references, but both Appian and Plutarch are mentioned as sources.Originally Posted by DaCrAzYmOfO

Could that really be possible? 10 Roman casualties? They were facing an army of 120,000 and were surrounded at one point, but only suffered 10 casualties?
Did Pontus not have a trained army, save for the elite bronze shields, were the rest just peasants given a spear and a wicker shield and forced to fight?

Definitely just Roman propaganda.
Ongoing EB Campaigns:
1.0 Pontos (245 BC)
Remanent or Supremacy - An EB Pontos AAR - Unfortunately postponed indefinitely.

1.1 Lusotannan Gameplay Guide
As someone's sig quotes Deadpool, "My Common Sense is tingling." In other words, if something an ancient author claims sounds absurd and exaggerated... odds are it is.
