Thread: POKEMON!!

    Default POKEMON!!

Who remembers spending vast ammounts of time in the car or at home under the cover on these games. I DO!

Due to a break in school and work I decided to make a mad dash for the finish. I want to beat all three originals in less than 24 hours is it possible?

I'm on hour 4 and im about halfway through Yellow version.

They're all the same story, aren't they? It might be possible, but would be boring too I think.

I started playing it again just over a year ago though. It's amazing how quickly it took off at school, everyone started digging out their old gameboys and playing. I think that says something about the whole thing.

Pokemon Stadium for the N64 was the best.

Blue, Red and Yellow are the same, except that you get different starting Pokemon (in Yellow you also get Pikachu following you).

I remember the card-game and the gameboy game based on the card-game. I also remember the first few game-boy games. I remember going to a mate's house who was fully into the whole Pokemon universe, and I was playing his Yellow version that he'd finished completely. Unfortunately I accidently dropped his gameboy whilst it was turned on, it hit the carpet and left no scratches on the gameboy itself, but it turned itself off and when I went to switch it back on again, the data had been erased. As soon as my mate found out, he went ballistic, so it shows how much the whole Pokemon Universe had an influence over people and how they acted. I even remember my school confiscating all pokemon cards that came into the school as they caused too much trouble (Kids saying "HEY! HE STOLE MY CHARMANDA!", "SHE RIPPED UP MY MEW!" etc.).

    Ahh, good times, happy days...

I still have my collection of around 1000 Pokemon trading cards.
Anyone want a Gyarados or a Blastoise? Give them both for a Charizard or a Mew.

Ah, Pokemon. Good childhood memories. I remember when my elementary school banned pokemon(too many kids argueing over trading cards ). So, everyone smuggled their cards to school to trade. Made everyone feel like a real rebel.

Speaking of pokemon, who has watched the new(er) series? I lost it after they added more than 252(is that right?) pokemon. They juts crammed more and more into it and now they are just milking it for profit. They just mix pokemon with other pokemon, next thing they'll be an Onychu, or a Sandzard.... really, how far do they expect to get?

    Also, Jkarinen = Veho Nex?

Yeah im going for a name change. The forum thing is just to help me along. A temp change for now. My old gaming name used to be CowTipp. I've had it for several years and I've been through thick and thin with it. Yesterday I was reading about the four horsemen of the apocalypse and decided it was time for a name change. Veho Nex translates into Rider of Death (the fourth horsemen)

I love Pokemon. The games keep getting better. I am turning 25 next month and I am an unapoligetic fan. I've gotten about 12 people into it - various girlfriends (my newest one is obsessed) my baby brother, my little brother, my little sister, kids my parents used to watch, etc.

The only ones I play are the full rpg types for the various handhelds.

Erg. I don't even wanna think about all the hours I spent playing Pokemon. I stopped after the Johto games/series, though, because they a) changed all the characters around, and the new ones sucked. b) Ash's new voice was absolutely awful. c) They were throwing so many new pokemon in that I pretty soon just lost tracked and stopped caring to. Oh, also, I hit the age of 14 too...
