Anyway to turn OFF tooltips in the STRAT map?

I've done this for the tactical map in the ini file... but is there any way to get RID of tooltips on the strategy map? I hate them!

Easy, just open the in-game menu when your on the strategic map, click on "game options" and where it says "adive level" just set it on none.

Dearmad, you trying to get rid of things like half of your screen constantly being blocked by an extremely helpful box explaining what, exactly, roads are good for? ^_^

I hate those too, but I don't know of a way of getting rid of them.

I anxiously await an answer to your question.

Of course, without them, you might have trouble deciding what trade goods to send merchants to, and how well your religion was spreading.

There is a file of nothing but tooltips. The file name right now I don't remember. Has anybody tried to just comment it out and see what effect it has on the game?

A screenshot may be needed... Im still not clear on what you want gone.

Its not the advisor that appears, so tooltips from when you mouse-over an item? or the panel that appears on the left hand side of the screen, cutting that side of it and giving a long description and detailed info on the item?

Be it on the map or in the battle map just go to the meniu and look for "advice level" or something like that...and turn it to none..that will fix the problem

Tooltips are in a string.bin file I assume, so you'd need to replace that with either an empty file (which will return errors but not really impact your game) or use a program such as M2SBE and remove all text entries (but not modify things that are in all caps)

Its a program that can edit string.bin files without needing to convert them to plain text first.

Ok I found it on TWCENTER. But it reads an error with the tooltips file... sigh. ANyway I fixed it by hand. The screen is SO much more uncluttered now! YAY!

Not quite. I edited the .txt version counterpart. I replaced all the annoying tooltip popups with a space. Left many of the tool tips I don't mind. Now the pop-up is just a tiny square I don't even get bothered by.
