I am fairly certain there's a console trick to renaming named characters in m2tw.
I have a guy who is about to become my faction leader but he's got kind of a non-threatening name. I want to rename him. Anyone know how?

Never heard of renaming them before. But couldent you give him one of those traits that add something to the name? Or do you want to change the whole name?

Yes I would like to change the whole name.
I was wondering if there is a console action to edit the name, or perhaps even a part of the save game data I need to edit manually.
Someone familiar with the cheats or game files could assist

Well, you can edit how a certain name is displayed but it will change it for all characters with that name. So renaming Adam to Bobby, anyone with Adam in their name will display Bobby there, not just one character.
Other than that, you cannot rename a character. You can rename settlements and your faction though.

Around here, Askthepizzaguy is synonymous with death incarnate. Nearly as fearsome as Tristan de Castelreng in single player as he is in hotseats.

Incidentally, how does one win a campaign by blitzing?
If you attack and sack a settlement, massacre the population, sell the buildings and then move on to the next settlement; wouldn't the just-sacked settlement go into revolt with masses of rebels?

I'd be happy to answer that question, but first I must ask you to view the HRE blitz or the Bloody Crescent blitz. That should answer a lot of your questions.
