Thread: Ghost Fleet / Invisible Navy

Default Ghost Fleet / Invisible Navy

I have an issue where I can't put my fleet back into a specific port (affects only one city right now) because there is evidently a fleet in there, but I can't see it or select it.

When I mouse over, it tells me there's a fleet there but I don't get an Admiral name (that I could use to move_character away somewhere else).

When I build new ships in that city, they disspear into the ghost fleet. However when I change the rally point of the port I can access the ship as it doesn't join the ghost fleet (it instead goes to the rally point automatically).

I don't think this is necessarily an EB bug (seems like an RTW thing) so I didn't post it in other sub-forum.

Anyone experience this before and/or know how to resolve it?

Is it only one fleet, or multiple? Try adding another ship to the fleet.

I can not move an existing fleet into that port - which is how I noticed it in the first place. The game responds like it's an invalid tile/position and clicking on the port with a different fleet selected does nothing.

I can't manipulate the ghost fleet in any way, except to seemingly add ships to it by building them in that city with the rally point set to the port location (as in, no rally point). Once the ship is done building it dissapears into the this blackhole of a port.

Checkout the lists scroll, it will give you the admirals name, then you can move him.

Do the ships in the port cost you upkeep? Also, can we see a picture?

I will check on the upkeep thing and will post a screenshot when I get home.

I will also try to select via the scroll - good idea thanks.

This happened to me one time in beta-testing I think. It'll happen.

In Vanilla an army of mine disappeared in Campania. I reloaded from previous and it did not disappear that time.

Grabbing it from the armies scroll worked for me when it happened.

I also learned that right-clicking the army tab above any city will bring up your army scroll.

Does not appear to be available via the armies scroll :(.

    Here's what it looks like:

I was wrong on the behaviour - when I try to merge a fleet into the ghost fleet it shows the path (as seen in the pic), but the ship never moves because it can't seem to merge.
