I wear boxer brief type things; they provide some support, at least. I also own a few pairs of compression shorts that I use for sports.

A lttle bit of column A and a little bit of column B.
What I can say is that when working outdoors in the winter, and you're layered like a club sandwich, and then all that coffee you drank wishes to return to the wild, getting though the layers and then finding your boxers have no fly can put you into an ergonomically difficult and most precarious time sensitive situation as you dance and fitter to avoid wetting the bed while standing up.
