Help in choosing a Faction for AAR

Yes folks. After spending a lot of time reading other peoples AARs' I've decided that I'm going to stop hiding like a coward and write one. I want to write a Celtic AAR but am stuck on which faction to choose so i'm asking for help.

Should I choose

1. The Aedui. Heirs to the Biturges and the rightful rulers of Gaul. Under their ruler ship Gaul will become a mighty Republic and trade will be opened to other more advanced foreign nations. Their enlightened rule will only become a reality if those dreaded Averni traitors to the South are dealt with first.

2. The Arverni. The rulers of Gaul by Military Might. Under their rule all celtic tribes will bow under the wise and watchful eye of the Verrix, Great God King and rightful ruler of all Celts! The Aedui betrayed all of Gaul when they allied with Rome, We shall ensure their name is spit upon when spoken and that they're compared to the Dung of the Earth!

3. The Casse. Strange men from the Isle's of The north. Their culture is an example of ancient celtic culture but they are still warriors tried and true. If the tribes of gaul cannot put aside their differences and end their silly civil war than the Casse Bren may have to take the title of ruler of all Celts

May I suggest a "Galatian AAR"?

Thats a good idea. But I always have trouble moving the Barbarian Generals. The game doesn't recognize their names. Example I put in Belanos Oilugos and nothing happens

Ah, have you tried checking out the descr_strat.txt to find out the ways Celtic generals are named internally?

Casse family members are usually like "Firstname ofcatuvellauni"

Arverni generals are usually "Firstname arverniLastname"

Aedui are usually "Firstname ofaedu"

The family members that you start out with are already in the descr_strat as well, so there's absolutely no possible way you can mess up their names.

And, I'm not sure but, make sure the capitalizations are correct.

I don't know why I didn't think of the descr_strat file . Thanks for the info. I'm going to check the recruitment viewer after dinner to see what i can recruit in anatolia.

Well looks like a tie between Aedui and Arverni. I kinda stuck on whether I should do a migration AAR or just settle with staying in gaul.

Actually, I was just reading about the Aedui, and I am thinking of playing a game with them myself (I only have three ongoing campaigns, so why not one more?). Therefore my vote is for the rightful rulers of Gaul, and not those Averni usurpers or those weirdos in Britain...

OK I just looked at the recruitment viewer and the recruitment doesn't look bad. But I was wondering how do I change the government from expansion to Homeland?

I'd like to see an Averni AAR. Never seen one before. I would like to see gaul united under God-King, and the darker sides of druidic rituals... Go on go for those crazy light green guys... You know you want to

wow i didn't know the arverni where that popular. well I have this poll up for five days so if the arverni are still in the lead i'll play them.

Aedui, you can role play them into a Roman style republic upon conquest of the Arverni.

I know I am repeating myself, but I have never seen an Averni AAR before.... I have seen adeui ones...

Well with only four days left for this poll it looks like i'll be playing the Arverni from the vote system if nothing changes. They look much more Royal to me than the Aedui (though I love the Aedui to. I just love all EB factions.).

Does any body know of some more Celtic (and accurate) Sites I can use for my research? I'm going to use some of the sites EB recommends But I could use more data. I want to get a good feel of their way of thinking. Not just portray them as a bunch of drinking barbaric headhunters.

Well, game-wise, I prefer the Aedui above all others. But like someone else said, there have already been several Aedui AARs. So I chose the Arverni because they're kind of in need of one.

I'm planning on incorporating both the Arverni conquering gaul and a galatian campaign into one AAR.

I'm not going to have a finished product until next week since there is something of grave importance i must take care of this weekend and it can't wait. Please just have a little more patience.
