    Exclamation Freezing/slow

    Hello guys,

I'm here again with a problem.
The problem is that when I'm ingame, the game starts to freeze/lag badly.
I saw some posts and FAQs but I can't find them back so I started my own thread..
    But..
RTW works fine on my pc, why does EB not?
What do I have to do about this?

    - Eros.

Mmm, get another gigabyte of ram? Start up times got cut in half when other people did this.

We know. We prefer cramming in the most possible information and features in the game to getting great performance for lower-end computers. Yes, EB runs slower than M2TW.
    • <simple>Buy more RAM. 2GB is ideal for playing EB.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

Look, when I started up EB it works just fine. But after 15 mins it starts to freeze/lag. Why is this?
    It's not my graphical options.
    Nothing wrong with my specs.

There is a memory leak in RTW. Most of the time it isn't noticable, but if you have a very small amount of RAM, the leak will become apparent. That may be your problem...

Try turning off shadows from the strat map options menu if you are getting lag there. That can do wonders.

are you trying to move any units/characters more than they can move in one turn? this will cause very bad lag until you end the turn...

...but only if you have the auto-speed-up option turned on.

Nah I think I've got a small amount of RAM then.
But isn't it weird that it only happens to EB and not to RTW?

Not really, EB takes a whole lot more RAM than vanilla by reading the huge files, especially the script.
