hope AG still saw that Byblos. I must admit I have my eye on Makedonios, and only for his name rather than his exceedingly good stats. Not that that should deter anyone! Choose freely!

Funny, I liked him for the same reason, although there's another fellow I have my eyes on as my first pick if he's still aorund come my turn.

I can't pass up the opportunity to roleplay one of the Comneni, and a historical one at that.

    I choose Prince Ionnis!

The only downside is I get stuck with the same annoying avatar as Hapburg, but I'm not complaining.

You do realize that Ionnis got passed over in real life because he was crazy don't you?

Just out of curiosity, since avatar selection seems to be taking a while will we extend the start of the game if it takes longer than the rest of the week to get everyone an avatar?

The game will not start until everyone on the above list has had a chance to pick an avatar. I'm hoping things will speed up once AG gets back, which will apparently be today or tomorrow. If they don't, I'll figure out a way to try and speed it up, including skipping people who are particularly slow without a good excuse for it (this doesn't apply to AG).

I always thought the John/Ionnis in MTW2 was the fellow who continued Alexios' success against the Turks and was one of the Empire's best Emperors.

I think your right. I was confusing him with this guy:
