    Default Txt editing/ self modding

I understand that the normal notepad disrupts the files and that another editor is necessary but i have no clue how to work "Notepad++" or "Crimson"

I have downloaded both and have tried tinkering around with them to no avail. Notepad++ required me to place the .exe in a place that didn't exist on my comp and i didn't want to proceed for risk of screwing something up , so i tried Crimson and it I cant even find the necessary lines to edit, it also shows files in its "open" option that i cant normally see in the folder

I didn't see a guide to this anywhere so... can I get some suggestions or perhaps a link to where this has been previously stated.

    Thanks in advance

Thumbs up Re: Txt editing/ self modding

I use textpad. It's very easy to get around with and doesn't require a "lesson" to learn.

Uh, did you try installing Notepad++? And it's not like Notepad++ will try to place the installation exe in some place it wants to, it's where your system wants to put it. And where your system places it is under your discretion.

Ill try textpad when i wake up tommorow

I was following the guide and it said to place the Notepadpp.exe into certain places in a specific order and to do some sort of validation

Textpad doesn't support Unicode. You can forget about editing files in Data\Text folder with it.
