Jesus...at 46, am I really in the 97th percentile in this group??!!??

So many of you on this board, probably having never experienced the combination of sheer joy and anguish of you and your buddies moving stacks of die-cut cardboard squads, commanders and support units across a hexagonal grid on a card table in your basement, surrounded by reams of unit stats cards, piles of multi-colored dice, and dictionary-sized rulebooks...we've come a long, long way...

But I love the fact that I can use this forum to learn so much about classical history from folks who are my kids' age!! Glad to be a part of it...

I'm reaching the age where I have to take a second to think about how old I am.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    22.

Either I'm getting old already, or I have brain damage from drinking far too much hard liquor.

Probably, in the future much more people of 30-60 will play computer games (and EB is a very serious game, which means historians, archaeologist and philologist would enjoy it). Now only the new generations (ok, let's include people under 35) have the habit of playing them.
44 in a few days and I beg to differ. Been playing computer games (as well as making it my career) since I had my Apple 2e at 13 or so. Ultima and 5 1/4 floppies ftw! :)

'Qadim' in maltese is used to describe old thinqs, for example, an old chair = siggu qadim. For people we use 'xih', an old man, or we say 'ghandu hafna zmien', ghandu=he has, hafna=many, zmien=years.

    Cheers.

Alexander had conquered the world by the time he was my age. I haven't even conquered my own house: "A man's house is his castle" - HA!

A word of advice to the young men: drink and fight and get laid and smoke ... cigarettes and generally have as much fun as you possibly can - while you're in your teens and early- and mid-20's.

Sometime around age 26-28, you'll sense that something has changed. Then - and only then - should you settle down with a good woman (or man, if that's your thing), and act responsibly.
Just call me sui generis, and leave it at that.

Be comforted Count Belisarius. I'm 24 and well on way for not even having my own house by that age ;).

That sounds funny. I always thought Maltese was a romance language. But it sounds rather semitic now.
