i've always like the factions with reforms, because it helps to shape my campaigns. In 1.0 i played the sarmations, KH, AS, the Hay, carthage, and the romans. All of these were half campaigns, because i lose interest in one faction and always want to try another. Right now i'm playing the romans in 1.1 and i want to play so that i can see all the reforms. Then I want to play an eastern faction, maybe the saka or parthians.

By far my sarmation campaign was the most fun, but it went down the tubes fast when I went broke and the parthians invaded me with everything they had. I was holding them off, but could never turn the tide of the war. Then I had a killer CTD, and that campaign died.

I had very enjoyable campaigns with many factions but the ones I like to replay the most are Baktria (they are just awesome in every single aspect I can think of, roster, map position, real history, flavour, eye-candy units, everything) and Macedonia (great roster, great position on the map, great history, a lot of cute stuff, good AOR, everything as well).

Pretty much love every faction out there. So very difficult to choose. I practically have to start a new campaign every few years of each faction I play. All I can really give are priorities of different factions, which are pretty much same across the board. Except for Sarmatia. I don't seem to want to play as them that much.

My favorites are Rome and Bactria: Rome when I feel like playing in the West, Bactria in the East. They both have good economies and great units.

All factions I have tried yet were great to play, but my most favourite are the eastern ones Pahlava (with the added bonus of interesting government system), Hayasdan (with the added bonus of the reforms) and Pontus (a bridge between Hellenistic and Persian worlds). Those three are sure bet!

And they just look, feels and plays awesome!!!

I love them all in truth... but to be fair the Seleucids are arguably my favorite faction... with a few house rules in place to limit oneself, they are a blast to play.

Opinions on factions can change somewhat though, for example I used to think the Sauromatae as steppe fodder, never even bothering to even select them in the faction screen... but now I love them to bits... what can I say I suffer from Dragon bias.

But having said that, the only constant and unbreaking love of mine remain the Seleucids... Arche Arche Seleukeia!!!

First Romanii, of course without doubt. Second Pahlava, Pontos and the Sauomatae.

1. Roma. I lik all the reforms and they have my favourite unit, the Equites Consulares.

2. Epeiros. Not only because in turn 2 they normally have all of makedonia, but they get Chainion Agema.

3. Arche Seleukia. After a lot of stabilisation they are a BEAST. Silver shields, Hetaroi... enough said

4. Koinon Hellenion. I love the 'honour and alliace' foreign wars, and the hoplitai.

5. Saka. Rock hard with a bodyguard like a panzer.
