Łobodziński looked a half-decent player against the Germans, but the entire team just went missing
today. A shame, as I'd wanted them to do well, though I can't say they'd deserve to go through on
the basis of the performances after qualifying. You never know, the Austrians might nick a point in the
next game if they make use of their good start for once, but I don't think Croatia will lie down by any
means.
Matchday 7 Prediction
Italy 3-0 Romania (1800)

Netherlands 2-1 France (2045)
[Time to discover a cutting edge, astroteam. I don't think they will - at least that's the hope, because
for once we might see a consistent Dutch side and a very interesting final game between the supposed
big boys.]

Well that was a sad day! Germany really didn't change since their Poland game. Clunky and slow. Not pizazz throughout the field. Gomez and Fritz don't show anything and now their only creative player got red carded.

All us men suffer in equal parts, it's our lot in life, and no man goes without a broken heart or a lost love. Like holding your dog as he takes his last breath and dies in your arms, it's a rite of passage. Unavoidable. And honestly, I can't imagine life without that depth of feeling.-Bierut

I dont know who these teams or players are but I love every minute of my morning soccer fix.I find myslef choosing a team at the begning of the game and living and dying with them throughout. Although I must admit I am partial to Holland simply becuase orange jerseys are awesome.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
IN Poland. Conspiracy theories, accusations and anger, voices of reason on the defensive - what the hell is going on ?
Who are we the Italians ?
First the tabloid war (Axel Springer TM) between Fakt and Bild, now the judge is enemy number one.
Perhaps the Croats should massacre the team to finally prove how weak it is ? But it is too late already for some people.
But to add to the general fashion I have a theory on my own - here is the responsible one !

Anyway, my predictions for Saturday:
Match Day 8:
Sweden 1-2 Spain
Greece 0-0 Russia Sure bet
If ever there was a game where no-one can possibly score, it has to be Greece-Russia; the most tediously defensive team in the tournament versus a team who will be desparate to avoid another defensive disaster after their thrashing by Spain. So I'm going to have one last go at betting on boring teams to live up to their reputation and try to save my ailing score. As for Spain, they should have enough quality to overcome Sweden, although I don't see it being another demolition job.
Day 7
Italy 1 - 1 Romania
Netherlands 3 - 1 France
Day 8
Sweden 2 - 3 Spain
Greece 0 - 2 Russia

bugger I think I'm too late.
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Hey Adrian, I'm realising now that I've ignored this soccer fun for too long. I had been interested in the sport for awhile, but it's difficult to follow over here with the lack of coverage so I never got into it. When I saw all the Org a flurrying over this Euro08 and it was being broadcast here in the States, I decided this would be the best time to get my feet wet.
Most of the games come on while I'm at work, but I've been able to catch the first hour of all the early games this week, and I'll be making sure I'm alert enough by 12am tomorrow to catch Spain and the dreamy Fernando Torres (whether he has a mullet or not).
For my analysis so far on today's match: Italy is making a grave mistake here and if I were the coach, I'd make certain my team scored often. If Italy had 3 points right now it would be a very different game, and Romania would be ready to go home or just concede. Once the Italians realize that scoring more than the Romanians is key here, the match will be in the bag.

hi Proletariat, nice to have you along for the fun!
Whatever the outcome, this is a different Italy from the one who played on Monday. Lobont is the only reason Romania are still level. Great attacking game on both ends though, fun to watch.
