Took two spear militia, two archers and skythikon to fight the smaller rebel stack, which turned out to be two turkopoles + BG. Got a Veteran Warrior retinue.
Took Bart + survivors to Tortosa.

Save has been surrendered to Smowz.

Gaza has been brought into the fold by occupation. The Fatimid Sultan is dead.

Few losses on our side though Methodios' whole BG lay dead but himself at the end of the fight.

Didn't even truly use the Order men except to delay and divert some of the Fatimids. In total, Stavros men must have taken less than 10 deaths.

I can't wait for Smowz to post his report...

Will post a battle report sometime tomorrow.

Report for 1141:

My congratulations to Comes Methodios the Brave after his speedy take of the garrison at Gaza. The settlement now belongs to him and his house Illes Korakas. The Fatamid Sultan is dead, the leadership of this faction is now in disarray, the named Crown Prince has emerged just south of Cairo.


Priorities:

Pavlos Chrysovergos has had 3 units of Dismounted Byzantine Lancers built in Tblisi. This takes him up to 6 out of the 10 PUs that he is allowed this term. The prioritized Leather Tanner will have to continue to wait until work on the farmlands in Tblisi has been completed.

The work on the City Walls has begun as the Basilues Aleksios Komnenus priortised.

Armatos ek Naksou has had 7 of his 10 PUs built for him in the holy land as requested.

Senator and family announcements:

Strator Nikolaos Aristenos continued his journey toward Alexandria by boarding a group of vessels near Thessaloníki.

I, Nevoulas ek Philadelphius continued my journey towards Smyrna.

Andrinikos Komnenos moved east in Anatolia past Sinop and now approaches a small rebel army. Yet another candidate has offered himself up for adoption, after I rejected the last one.

Building:

The conversions of Aleppo, Scopia and Trebizond have been completed. Work can now begin on turning these centres into fine economies.

Speaking of which, a Market in Iconium, a Grain exchange in Smyrna and a Market in Sinop will be welcome news to the Roman accountants ears. These buildings are under development.

Construction on a small chapel has begun in Acre. Also as Arta is not yet big enough to support a Port, work on clearing land for local farms has been commissioned.

A leather Tanner is being developed in Sofia to better armour our troops in the west.

I accepted the request for a Merchents guild in Thessaloníki, on the behalf of the house of Asteri. Another has been offered to open up in Athens, again I shall leave it initially to my friend and mentor Ioannis Kalematros to decide.


Misc:

Sinop and Yeveren has had to have their tax rate dropped to avoid rebellion.

Unfortunately the people of Aleppo are currently in revolt.

The council of nobles have asked us to blockade Mecca.

There is a small rebel force to the north of Bucharest.

Report for 1143:

Another year of stability for the Roman empire, my slow process of turning these fine lands into an economical powerhouse continues. Congratulations go out to my longtime friend Domestikos Vartholomaios Ksiros who finished off the work by the order to eliminate the last of the irratating Knights Templar hangers on. A fine victory indeed and one taken at great personal risk, I salute you.


Priorities:

Pavlos Chrysovergos has 4 out of the 10 PUs available. The prioritized Leather Tanner will start work soon on the completion of recent farming improvements.

The work on the City Walls has begun as the Basilues Aleksios Komnenus priortised, he may priortise one other building. Our great leader has all 15 of his 15 PUs available.

His son Caesar Ioannis Komnenus likewise has all of his 2 of 2 PUs available.

More happiness for our royal family as yet another bundle of joy has been given to Isaakos Komenus and his young wife. I have been informed that their third child is a boy named Appollonas , a grand name indeed.

Building:

The newly designed towns of Aleppo, Scopia and Trebizond have now started work on profitable grain exchanges. Both Aleppo and Trebizond have had to have their tax rates dropped for a short time as the populace gets used to a different way of life.

The slow religious conversion is failing to keep up with the booming populations, with that in mind I have comissioned work on various places of worship in Alexandria, Dongola, Gaza and Adana.

Excellent news for travelers in the west of our realm, work has been completed on paved roads in Athens and Thessaloníki. Meanwhile a Bowyer and Garrison Quarters have been completed in Corinth and Belgrade.

In the far east, the outposts of Tblisi and Yeveren have compled their farmland reforms.

Finally a small chapel has been completed in Acre.

I accepted the request for a Merchents guild in Athens, on the behalf of the house of Asteri.


Misc:

An English scholar managed to translate an Arabic Alchemy document. Frankly I do not know what to make of it.

Our relations have dropped with Sicily.

The Crown Prince of the Fatamid Calaphate is on the road to Gaza, I am sure he will soon meet the swords of one of our great commanders.

Took Methodios and some of the Cairo garrison to deal with the Fatimid Crown Prince...

Simply put, he's no longer a nuisance...

Lost more men than I expected... I got a taste of my own medicine when he charged into my line with his bodyguard.

Tried to ransom him and his men for 8000 florins but was denied.

EDIT : Gaza has been left defenseless, though without any threat in range. But it may revolt this turn...

I would be thankful to the Megas to recruit all available units in Gaza to prevent rioting.
