Adding this to your diet is not necessary for weight lifting. I doubt you are going to compete in Mr. Universe anyway.
Proteins are however necessary for building muscle, but you'll get more than you need from a normal diet.
I know the younger generation believes in these "silver bullets", and by adding all kind of crap to their diet they think this will magically produce more muscles than without.
I'll tell you bluntly. You are just buying into hype. Unless you are seriously going for body building and workout routines with a frequency of several hours a day, you don't need these supplements. The body will only take what it needs and dump the rest with your body waste. In other words, it will keep the good stuff from real food and your expensive protein powder will end up in the toilet.
You should be more concerned about having enough energy to fuel these processes; again I am in the opinion that no supplement is needed. Just eat what you want when you want, when you do a fair amount of training.
The hypertrophy will be a result of sufficient energy and rest. Just make sure you have proteins on your diet in the form of meats and fish. If you crave sweets after training, it is a reason for it. Your body need to replenish its glycogen and fast sugars is great for it, and it also stimulates the protein synthesis necessary for muscle hypertrophy.
