Upgrade

Hello,

Large part of the upgrade is ready. Now it's just cosmetics and adding functionality of some hacks.

You'll notice many, many things missing. Do not worry, all is still here. It's sometimes just a matter of tweaking the templates to bring it back. Sometimes a small coding is required.

The warning system is gone I think, vbul has something similar now.

It's 3.39 AM and I'll get a little nap first.

Multiquote isnt working (the picture)
the line between sticky and non sticky has gone.
the layout of the subforums (like the mod section) has gone back to the old one.

Yes it does seem faster.

A small issue that I noticed is that when you quick reply, it says "Quick replying" or whatever, twice.

Also, the right side (labelled top) of the small boxes in your profile have a missing picture each.
In quotes, "view post" is missing its picture.
In Edit Options, the secret question section comes out of the box

The changes that are bothering me the most ATM are the shortened PM writing box and the disappearance of the 'bar' between stickied and non-stickied posts.

It's probably one of the extensions which has been broken in the transition. The awards system, the LDM and a couple of other functions have vanished due to them being incompatible with the upgrade. I'm sure that compatible versions of these extensions will appear in due cause though.

I miss the larger editing box as well. Fortunately, there is a work around. You can enlarge the PM box by using the buttons to the top right hand side of the editing area. This function also can be applied to the posting box and the post editing box if they are a little too small for your liking.

In other news, I found that you can see who visited someone else's page but you cannot see who visited your own page.... a bit odd that.

Also, it seems userpages are gone. That would actually not be too bad as we now can post messages on the profile.
Oh, and Custom title/member group are both above the avatar again.

Interesting finding, that helps a lot!
Figure we can have those moved to the right of the PM box where there is empty space (i.e. between box and smilies)? Otherwise those are rather difficult to find

Hello,

Nothing is missing really, it's just not visible yet.

The templates changed a lot, instead of editing it all by hand, which could cost me a day or more per skin and still having a big mess, the default one for this board version is loaded. The default skin is probably best for now. Of course it still misses >90% of the customisations made over the years, such as userpages, custom pics, urlavatars, to top buttons.. But that's just the visual of it, in some cases code is missing too. But the data behind it is still there. The usernotpad for example isn't visible, if you would see it, it won't work, because the code needs a tweak. The data is still there though and I know what's needed to make it visible and working.

It's possible that non-English languages are messed up too, I would be slightly surprised if it wasn't. It's an old version add-on after all, some ancient even.

If the board had to be down until everything was upgraded and back to normal, it may be down for weeks.

I also get a message informing me I do not have the correct privileges when accessing that link. Oddly, when I logged out, I was able to access it though.

While we're on the subject of the LDM though, would it be possible to have the display only show sub-categories two categories below the category selected. The three we have at current makes browsing a little awkward and categories hard to find.

Adding an album on your profile page seems alright (and nice feature) but if you go to view your albums, add album and edit album are both missing the picture/icon and have the phrase duplicated next to it.

Just a small issue I've noticed with the profiles, long names which take up two lines do not display correctly in the friends box, being cut of at the point between the two lines.

BTW, SwedishFish, you can locate the IRC chat here. You'll need an IRC client, such as Chatzilla, to access it. I can't find the Java chat which doesn't require an IRC client though - sorry

Same here - Arabique is a beautiful thing. I would do a mournful ululation for it but with my singing voice it might sound more like an emu with something stuck in its throat.

You might try Sengoku which is without a doubt better than any other skin (that isn't in my opinion, it is an indisputable fact).
