    Default Wii Games

So I'm thinking about getting a Wii, however it's been the better part of twenty years since I've owned a console, so I'm a little bit low on knowledge of what's worth playing so I was looking for some recommendations. I'm looking to get a wii to pick up some more fun orientated games that I can play casually - I have my PC where I play a number of online games at a pretty competitive level for any serious gaming I want, but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in deeper games on the Wii.

Anyone care to recommend say 10 games that they would recommend picking up? Thanks in advance!

The Wii has more than ten games worth picking up?

A good starting point would be here. Just pick Wii for the platform and set 'limit results to' to something like 30. That would give you the 30 highest rated Wii games. That list would hopefully give you some game ideas that you think you'd be interested in. Virtually any of those would be worth owning if they're in a genre you're interested in.

I think games like Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart are no-brainers. And, if you like fighting games at all, you'll probably want Super Smash Bros. Also, for some M-rated fun, I'd recommend 'No More Heroes'- a really quirky funny game that should be at bargain bin prices by now.

If you have a hot girlfriend, I hear Wii Fit is the game to get.

For the most part, I would suggest Legend of Zelda, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Galaxy, and Wii Play (if only because you get a free second controller packaged with a mediocre tech demo).

Hmmm, Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess was fairly good, a bit on the short side but alright nonetheless. Alot depends on the genres you like.

Please answer the following question carefully:

Have you played Okami on the PS2?

If the answer is yes, well done! Award yourself a cookie and bask in the knowledge that you are one of the handful of gamers which gave this amazing game a chance.

If no, buy the Wii version. Now!

Okami is an amazing game. It is gorgeous to look at, sounds wonderful, and plays like a refined version of Zelda with some awesome ideas added into the mix. IMO it is a better game than Twilight Princess. The celestial brush idea is so suited to the Wii it is as if Clover Studios looked into the future and designed the game for the as-yet unreleased console. It's a huge game, so it will keep you going for a long time ... if you can get past the first hour. It has a very slow and wordy start, and that puts some people off. Once past that it is all good.
