In Support of Foot

All right, first let me say that this will probably make me a few enemies here on the Guild. I'm not completely comfortable with that, but so be it. Foot, you were right in closing the EB Tavern, and you should be applauded for your courage in making an unpopular decision. The Tavern was not properly reflective of the professionalism which has always characterized the EB Team, and which should be the goal of its fans. While there is no reason for this forum to become dry and stuffy, I believe most of us should agree that this is no place to trade obscenity-laced jokes. By the time I first visited the Tavern, that was already in full swing by a very vocal minority of Org members, and I never felt comfortable posting in that environment. I have been guilty of posting joke threads in the past, and I trust that humor is not completely banned, but there is no need for things to get out of hand as they did in the Tavern.
It was the right decision, Foot, and despite the fact that you and I have clashed in the past, I wished to express my support. Good work.

EDIT: You may want to lock this as well, in case your detractors try using it as a staging ground.

Those of us angry at the Taverns closing are probably (like me) angry at loosing a spot to just be casual. Its nice for us to have a spot where we can just say hi and see how everybodies doing. A place were I can rant about my current campaign and generally post stuff that isn't worth a new thread. It was a place where I could post a funny youtube link I found or where I could "just talk"

If there was any insult flinging going on then those individuals should have been taken care of, not the whole thread.

Look. The Tavern is Closed, and we're fine with that. posts like these seem to be here just so that they can provoke people.

The majority of people here do respect Foot's decision, regardless of whether they agreee with it enough. Seeing that you've been here a while, and are therefore not a newbie, I can hereby tell you to GTFO.

Since several people had opened threads to bash Foot, I merely thought I had the right to support him. Enough said.

Foot didn't make that decision. Foot executed that decision. The whole team stands for the decision.

Correction:
1 person opened a thread to ask for the taverns re-opening (Mike Hunt)
and another posted saying he'd founded a new tavern (which was later locked)

So yeh, congratualtions for pointlessly provoking everyone here.

Where have they opened threads like that. And the tavern had turned into a spam and chat thread and was needed to be closed this is the EB forum not a chat site. I support the decision made by the Eb team. And every one got of foot's back he did just his job. And I'm now of to work on my new AAR

Che, you are stepping on very thin ice. My suggestion to you is to stay away from rude behaviour toward other forum users for awhile. An outburst every so often is understandable, its the internet after all, but you give the outbursts on a variety of threads in a short period is not acceptable.

I'm closing this thread and suggest to everyone to leave any topic closely related to the EB Tavern well alone. Criticism of a beloved place now dead is guaranteed to get a rise out of people. I had hoped that people might be a little more mature about the issue and not see this as a thread to once more voice disbelief and hurt. But I guess that the hurt is too near. In this case all threads related to the EB Tavern will now be closed at first sight. That includes threads in support of the EB Tavern elsewhere.
