who knows some weird names that "truly" exist, aka people were really named like that.

I start with Argwumpel, it is one of the least used names in holland, which means at least one person carries it, the poor child.

Wasn't there this story about some parents naming their kid "4real".

So if you don't know his name:
"Hey, are you 4real?"

I heard this rumor that Chinese parents were naming their children 'Olympic games'. No article to back that up, but it's a pretty funny rumor.

How about the football team Odd Grenland, or the first name Odd, or perhaps Even?

A friend of mine who is a pediatric oncologist sends me regular updates on the most absurd names he comes across. Here are my favorites:

Abcde (pronounced Ahb-sihd-dee)
Twins named Lemonjello and Orangejello - named after the mother's favorite foods while pregnant
Meconium - The mother heard the doctors using this term in the hospital and thought it sounded nice.

That one is from the book Freakonomics, which has an entire chapter about weird baby names, including several that I cannot reprint in the Frontroom. I'll just say that one of them is supposed to be pronounced "shut-HEED."

Placenta...
My wife told me she heard a story of a girl who named her newborn Placenta. The girl must have thought it either sounded pretty or the drugs from the delivery had not warn off...

Yeah that Talula does the hula was pretty funny.

Twisty poi is also a funny one when you realkise that a "poi" is a type of "ball" on a legth of rope that is used by ladies in traditional Maori dances or Kapahaka.

I went to school with a guy named Justin Dick and the captain of my cricket team named his child Cameron. Thus with the last name Hill he become Cameron Hill or the shorten version Cam - Hill.

Martok will be proud....
