Default Re: Spirit Mafia (In Play)

CA was sitting alert outside a door, clearly looking for anything moving. His head swiveled left and right constantly, keeping a constant alert. His attention was taken when a shadow crept along a wall down to his left. He scrambled to his feet, in a guarded stance against whatever might be the source of the shadow. The shadow grew longer, until a dark, bipedal creature turned the corner to face CA. CA rushed the creature, whilst apparently searching a sleeve for something. He pulled out beaded rosary, and began to hum a chant. However, the creature was having none of it; it opened a bag it had held on its shoulder, and from its empty contents a torrential wind blew, knocking CA off his feet, sending him tumbling backwards in disarray. The creature bounded forward quickly, and stepped on the left wrist of CA, which still held the rosary. CA's grip faltered under the immense pressure of the being's foot, and released the rosary. The creature then grabbed CA by the neck with its other hand, lifting him up from the ground, face to face. The creature dropped the bag, and used its now free hand to plunge five clawed fingers into CA's midsection. It tore and twisted at the insides of CA, finally ripping the hand, as well as a large quantity of blood and entrails, out of CA. It tossed the now limp body to the floor, leaving the corpse behind, content in its mission.

A tall, bipedal creature stalked the hallways, looking through one room after another, passing each by as though what it found did not satisfy it. The air around it exuded a bluish crackle, just by its passing through. As it turned reached a t-corner in at the end of a hallway, it stood up straight, then began a walk back through the same hallway. It walked purposely towards the end it had come from, then took a right at the first t-corner. It followed this to another t-corner, where it took a left, then ascended a flight of stairs, then following that hall to what appeared to be a dead end. There was no rooms, just a large window that offered a scenic view of the castle courtyard. It looked out the window, and in the moonlight, saw another being in the moonlight outside, standing above what looked like a body. The sparking creatured put a clawed hand to the window, cutting a large hole in the glass, a screeching sound echoing through the dead end. It finished cutting the large circle, and pushed it out into the grounds, before jumping from the third story down to the grounds. It approached the being it saw earlier. However, it stopped short when it saw the being laying hands upon what was now very clearly a corpse, which was now beginning to decompose slightly. Out of sheer curiosity, it stayed back, to see what was happening. The other being's hands were set on the chest and belly of the corpse. The hands began to glow a bright yellow, as though they were exuding pure sunlight. It shone out bright and clear in the dark night, where previously the only source of light had been the moon itself. The light seemed pure, sparkling. Even more astounding was the reaction of the corpse; where previously had been gashes and holes, flesh appeared. The same light began to shine from its eyes, mouth, and ears. The original creature decided enough was enough. It bounded forward towards its equally strange counterpart. I raised its right hand, electricity gathering and sparking from the hand. It shot the electricity out as a charged bolt.

The other being raised its head, becoming aware of its attacker. It merely nodded its head in response to the bolt headed towards it. Without warning, appearing from seemingly nowhere, twelve great spirits arose. The twelve stepped together, each with a sword and shield, forming a link between the two beings. The bolt of electricity struck one of the spirits, but was merely absorbed. The attacking creature held up both hands this time, a great, dark cloud accumulating rapidly above the combatants. Thunder sounded loudly above, and great, purple bolts of lightening descended to the attacker's opponents. The twelve spirits moved with blinding quickness, stepping into the path of each and every bolt, and absorbing the charged particles. Bolts continued to rain down upon the field, but not one could penetrate past the guard of the twelve spirits. In the meantime, the defending spirit had returned to the corpse, attempting to finish the job at hand. It continued to pour the pure light into the body, and wounds continued to stitch themselves, while cold and gray flesh became warm and tan. The defending being suddenly stopped; the corpse began to rise from the ground.

suddenly regained conciousness, confused. The last thing he had recalled was being in his room; now he was somewhere in the courtyard, while lightening struck around him and thunder sounded. He gazed up at the being which stood before him. A bunch of spirits were swooping around, and a second creature stood in the distance, seeming to be the summoner of the strange weather. He would have to figure this out later...

The thunder quickly ended; the lightening bolts soon after. The twelve spirits ensured the survival of the pure and kindly being. They returned to its side, between it and the lightening-wielding attacker. Each spirit raised a hand, and, with a massive blast, shot out the electricity each had stored during the assault towards the attacker. Only through a nimble jump backwards, all the way back to the window from which it had leaped. The attacker suddenly shook its head, as though it was shaking the cobwebs out. A confused look temporarily overtook its face, however, when it peered down at the spirit guards which stood formidably before the two on the ground. Not looking eager much longer for engagement, the lightning being withdrew into the castle halls.

It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.
