I trick I use is to just park an army in their red zone, normally they get the hint (or seem to) and move on.
Nothing To Display
Assasinate their Faction Leader and hope the next in line has low authority. Hopefully the army will turn rebel in a couple of turns.
Improving relations or a token cash gift of 100 florins sometimes does the trick.
I have a very effective tactic for removing AI armies from my land. First, I pull out my blood-stained plastic picnic spoon which I used to decapitate the leaders of 12 factions, and...
hey, where are you going?

Intimidation always works. France did the same thing to me when I played as England. They kept a near-full stack next to Bordeux for ~10 turns and never attacked. They'd cycle their king in and out of it between Paris every couple turns. It was annoying because I had to keep Bordeux fully garrisoned in case they did attack. Milan eventually attacked another French settlement and France sent their army to fight.
Personally, if even an ally sends an army into my lands, Ithem in front of their children and feed their heads to my horses. I don't put up with border offenses.
