Man, I had the Eagles winning that game. What was up with Westbrook on the ground? Looked like maybe they wasted him up the middle a few too many times, but I didn't see it all.

Houston really gave their game away and you have to pin that loss on the coach. What was with constantly throwing the ball with a two score lead and under 5 minutes to go?

What I really want to know is why, exactly, Fox is trying to make me watch the Cowboys paste the Bengals when the Bucs-Broncos contest is much more interesting and 'local.'

Hey, finally a week where I can safely guarantee the Raiders will not lose!

I'll admit I was switching back and forth between the Eagles and Phillies games (leaning more and more heavily towards the Phillies as time went on), so I can't really say for sure. But really, after that first drive (and the DeSean punt return), they were totally flat, Westbrook or no. I'll pull my old standby and chalk it up to bad playcalling by the offensive staff.

And it's a simple answer, Ramses: Because the national TV networks, Fox particularly, have a love affair with Dallas.

They played on CBS down here if what the Dallas schedule says is true. Which is unusual but I didn't watch the game, so I'm not entirely sure.

    HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

Considering they eked by the Bengals (the Bengals, fer crissakes!), I'd say they are in trouble. Philly is looking like the worst team in the division, but the Skins and Giants are playing really well. There is just something not right about the way Dallas is playing, with that talent they should be killing teams. I still don't trust their discipline. A win is a win, but that was not pretty.

Eh, the giants eked by the bengals too.

Not that I'd brag about the cowboys...if it weren't for chris "I fumble every game" perry we'd have won...

    Just an idea here.

My work buddies and I (about 25 of us) use PoolHost.com to test our ability to pick game winners each week. We play for a few bucks, but the fellas here might be interested in matching their "pick-ability" against their .org pals - just for fun. (No money involved).

    So, I set up a private pool at PoolHost.com.;

If you wanna play, go to PoolHost.com, select "Join Private Pool", enter "totalwar" as the pool name, then "totalwar" as the password; pick a username, then make your picks for next week's games.

The player with the highest number of picks per week, wins. In case of a tie, we use Monday Night Football total points prediction as the tie-breaker. In case of a double tie (same number of winning picks + same MNF point predictions), we use time-of-submission as a final tie-breaker. In the unlikely event that both winners submitted their picks at exactly the same time, Admin tosses a coin.

I'll play Admin. Username "Conspiracy Bruthah".

The site has a message board and chat facility. I think it'd be fun. So c'mon: join. Even if you're not an NFL fan, I bet it'd be fun, and the commitment is low.
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.

Rodgers threw for 300 yards on a bum shoulder.

The penalties and injuries on defense killed us. Harris, Bigby, and Jenkins were all out. :P

Overall, it was a horrible weekend for sports up here in the great north.

Oh, I know. If Sage Rosenfels doesn't try to pull an Elway while up 10 late in the 4th quarter, we lose it easily.
