If we're talking about the composition of bigger-than-his-brain-sized blings, hemorrhagingly idiotic level of luxury show-off and gigantic pairs of buttocks mean to be rap. NO.

If we're not talking about that disgusting MTV bastardization, some groovy beat with harmonical sets of words spiced with catchy samples are never bad for one's ear.

I used to have to listen to some New York City cable tv rap stations, some were in Hispanic too, while at work covering inmate recreation at the jail. Maybe it's a generational/cultural thing, my dad hated the rock music I listened to as a kid, but for me it's....umm..... Yeah, definitely .

Sure, rap music is party music. That's why it's so popular.

if you mean american/english "gangsta" rap...I listen to very little of it....I consider it acceptable as "soundtrack" music on a movie or tv show...but I wouldn´t listen to it...same if you go to a club....I don´t mind listening to it at a club...but I wouldn´t listen to it at home.

there is one brazilian rapper that I rather like, Gabriel "O Pensador" (the thinker) is a great artist in my opinion, his songs are not straight rap but add a lot of other musical flavors, also also sings about more important subjects then how many "hos" he got last month.

Most of it isn't really my thing but I can enjoy some rap.
