I think I still have to play Xiahou and Andres. I'm kind of busy this weekend but I should be fairly free for the rest of the week(except for turkey day of course). Just PM me with what days/times you guys are available and I'll try to work something out.

I am attempting to slay the dragon, Stephen Asen, in a second rematch. He won the first two games.

I'm not in your tournament, and he'll likely beat me again, but I think I have a chance.

    :prays:

    EDIT
Reminder that I'm available in case some of your more absent players continue their... absentness.

    Excellent work, Rhy!
The purpose of a fish trap is to catch fish, and when the fish are caught, the trap is forgotten. The purpose of a rabbit snare is to catch rabbits. When the rabbits are caught, the snare is forgotten. The purpose of words is to convey ideas. When the ideas are grasped, the words are forgotten. Where can I find a man who has forgotten words? He is the one I would like to talk to.

If the tournament moderator and the gameroom moderator approves, I'll be joining the tournament in place of the absent Warmaster Horus.

Seamus Fermanagh gave me his approval in private, but before it's official I think it would be appropriate to confirm here. He has it, such as it is worth. --SF

I would welcome any and all games.

    Announcement from His Imperial Highness:

Currently the Serpent-Prince is fighting three wars against the armies of Andres, Waspinator and Askthepizzaguy. Whilst the armies of the Prince are fighting well against Andres and still hold their own against Wasp, their center is nearly broken by the improved and upgraded army of Askthepizzaguy. But this is not what matters now. The decisive battle is against the armies of General Waspinator and his army should be defeated at any rate.

P.S.Good work to all of the three opponents!

I accepted a challenge from Cambovenzi.

Report: Made silly mistake against Andres and lost a bishop unnecessarily. Now best chance is to play for a draw. Will remember to THINK before moving the pieces, and never to underestimate my opponents.

Battle versus the indestructible armies of the Asen is going well, but perhaps not as well as the Dark Lord suspects. Current status of our forces is that we are up by a single, isolated pawn, and we have the advantage of two bishops versus a bishop and a knight in an open game. Consequently, Asen's forces are weak on the light squares. The Lord himself is safe and his pieces are developed well, and the only concrete advantage we seem to have is that the Lord is on the defensive. We need to develop our King Rook and give the king a defense against possible back rank mates. Trading down to the endgame is premature, as our advantage is not enough to force the issue. We must proceed carefully, and not make any tactical blunders against Asen, who has been known to leap on such errors immediately, spotting them all with amazing skill.

Should we make a blunder like the one we made against Andres, all hope will be lost.

While we've engaged in a friendly bout with the armies of Lord Askthepizzaguy, our armies have been crushed by the might of Lord Asen. We'll return to the field shortly though, after these commercials.

I have been doing a lot of tactics training, endgame studies, opening studies, and reading books by Yasser Seriawan and Josh Waitzkin. My big thick book is the Complete Chess course by Fred Reinfeld. Yasser's book teaches space, tactics, and pawn structure really well, and Josh is like the undisputed master of attacking.

I used to be very, very good at this game but I've gotten rusty over the years of not playing. I didn't play in school because no one wanted to play against me. Playing so many opponents recently and studying several hours each day has improved the game.

I'll even say it: My big weakness is playing as Black. I've studied White's game so much, that I am way out of my element when I am playing as the Black pieces. Too defensive, not enough attacking.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

So that its subjects will view it with admiration, as a chicken which has the daring and courage to boldly cross the road,
but also with fear, for whom among them has the strength to contend with such a paragon of avian virtue? In such a manner is the princely
    chicken's dominion maintained. ~Machiavelli

First and second games with woad&fangs concluded. 2-0 Askthepizzaguy.

I offered woad&fangs a third game, because he did not know how to castle using chess.com's interface.

Gave Beefy my queen intentionally for fun, because he was so kind as to give me his.

Does that count or are you doing a rematch?
